Streamer priority confirmed. PoE is free to play, so play it for free, but Boycott GGG.

nice thoughtful post

Thank you
Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!
Expect no less from me. And should I fail to live up to that basic standard, then I will have failed you too.

I do not intend to do that.

:)

Have a lovely weekend! (he said, enjoying the Tristram theme strumming out of the TV a few metres away)

GGG: if you're going to behave like just another money-hungry free to play developer, at least be honest about it.

Impossible: it likely became a part of corporate culture already. 1984 style.
Sincerely, ex-WG employee, where same stuff happened.
Charan was right.
What's WG short for?

I could google but I'd probably end up in a clickhole about pasta sauce.

Wargaming dot net, yes. Antigegner is right.

Besides, how could one be employed by a pasta sauce? o_O
Charan was right.
Well no. I'm sure the hole would start innocent enough...but before I know it...WHY YOU HAVE BEEN DOING RAGU WRONG AND HOW TO NEVER MAKE SUBPAR SAUCE AGAIN!

Also, wargaming has a bit of a saucy reputation for their tryhard PAX afterparties. No big surprise there.

Whatever else might change with GGG, I don't see them falling prey to their own success in this regard. Kiwis take great pride in their humility. Even really successful ones still walk around barefoot and self deprecate on the regular.

If only this attitude extended into their work, which has more than once resulted in colossal displays of hubris. Exhibit a: Jackson. The Hobbit budget bloat definitely undermined a lot of the authenticity and earnestness of the LOTR movies. Then there was King Kong. And did anyone even watch Mortal Engines?

You may think this is off topic but it really isn't. A person might downplay their persona and seem in touch with the masses but their work might tell a very different story as it fails to resonate or connect with those masses.

I'm no fan of the most famous lizard people but at least most of the time they don't insult our intelligence by acting like they're the same social species as the rest of us. Most of the time.

And their work speaks for itself. In a way I think once a creator surpasses a certain threshold they should just embrace their status as a genius creator and stop trying to play nice with everyone. Including the parasites who just want to make a buck off that work. Whatever that might mean in context.

Well I've spotlighted the dots enough for now. Draw your own lines between them. Or don't.

PoE is roughly 300% more than the game it could have been. It was LOTR at some point...now it's the entire Tolkien ouevre, unedited.

Well, people which can afford to request a wing of air stunts specialists on interceptors for single person's amusement can afford sick afterparties. The irony is, they have exactly same pleasure with groupies attending afterparties after local metal bands mash. Maybe less.

Speaking of reputation, (at least locally) it elevated to a reputation of law dawgs which pursuit ex-employees for developing things remotely resembling their flagship product.

And returning to main topic of this topic...

*sigh*

Whole thousand can't be all-geniuses.

And even if they are - there are fine lines which should never be crossed.

At least because society as a whole stands on these lines. And crossing these starts degradation and collapse.

Buuuuut, they say that there is no crime which business won't commit if 300% profit is at the stake... which, essentially, is a reason behind particular atrocity which became a centerpiece of this thread's exhibition.

And they're reaping the consequences.
Charan was right.
There's been quite a bit to digest in this post since I last read it. I unequivocally agree. I must say the hubbub of the past couple of weeks has been much amusing, and if only there wasn't a part of me that didn't wish things had gone different. It's very unhealthy and unbecoming of humanity to feel happiness at someone's fall and so I must leave all this place and all things connected to it to memory.

While fun was had, I wish it were greater. While hope for the future of the game was a boon, I wish it remained. While it was fun to enjoy what would come next, I wish I could enjoy it.

Anyway, on my leaving note, enjoy some memes that have been floating around. I found them to be quite hilarious.

Point of View - You're either
A) GGG's integrity
B) Harvest Crafting
C) A casual player

O RLY?

Maybe you don't understand human. I would say it is perfectly normal specially for someone they perceive as evil. People celebrate when the evil villain died.
