GGPK Defragmenter
" No, didn't do that. That's my whole point. When I started the defrag, the whole game was downloaded, in it's entirety. When the defrag was done, I only had half a game (therefore the extra download). I have no idea what happened in the defrag but I went from a full game to half a game. I have no contentold.ggpk only the Content.ggpk; the original ggpk is gone. |

Just ran it on Windows 7 with an SSD. Got the same size reduction as Odoakar. No real change in load times, but I guess it's nice to get the space back.

" sry look page 2 and 4 or everything here in this threat , i also just tryed it, start-->run; google cmd.exe, i dont know how to access in win 7, its a basic dos command box or better there was a way in this threat to create a link to the defrag exe, you just need to type the commands in it, but then i read something with .bat, idk, i prefer the logical way maybe someone can explain it better pls? Your method is quite simple.
1. Go to your PoE folder and put the defragmenter file there. Copy the path name to the folder (E:\Program Files (x86)\Grinding Gear Games\Path of Exile in my case). 2. Start-Run-Cmd. If you don't have Run on Win7, google 'how to enable Run on win 7'. 3. E: is my drive with PoE, replace the letter with your disk character C:\Users\..\:>E: E:\> cd E:\Program Files (x86)\Grinding Gear Games\Path of Exile (right click and paste the path) E:\Program Files (x86)\Grinding Gear Games\Path of Exile> ggpk_defragment.exe content.ggpk content2.ggpk Confirm and wait. After it's done, just rename the files as suggested by Nagpur. „I don't give a fuck if it was his tenth anniversary with his goddamn neckbeard...“ „If they think I'm going to let them sweep this pizza guy thing under the rug...“ No mod action. Business as usual. Last edited by Odoakar#1827 on Aug 21, 2013, 4:01:09 PM

Seriously good stuff here, this little beauty shaved 3 gigs off my ggpk file. +1 sir.
Im assuming that we are just fine to remove the unnecessary bloated contentold.ggpk files after this has completed successfully? Again props to the creator/OP much appreciated. ~Smitty~ |

" yes, remove it afterwards.... for safety reason just to make sure it didnt mess up i moved the old file out of the folder first then loaded the game with the new file it seemed fine so i deleted the old one afterwards . Why ask Why and start by denying before you have actually tried?
