Daily Deals Introduced
I like the deals and LOVE the daily deals and LOVE that I can see what's for sale when I log in. Whiners should shut up. The game is free, GGG gotta eat. Maybe there should be some sort of microtransaction where you pay $20 / year to never see the ads. :P
I DO think the $ on the interface bar should be changed to the PoE "coin" symbol like you see in the shop, for both consistency and to recognize that there are users outside of the USA. |

" didn't meant it that way, the thing i was going to say was in closed beta more people spent money just to support the game. thinking about it twice one of the reasons behind could be that the store hadn't had any other items than stash tabs, lol@me. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

" but eventually you pay in US$, it does make sense. and it allows the button to be smaller. on the other hand many people beside me hate the dollar as a currency in itself because it's forced to be the world currency with military force and allows the us to be unlimited indebted to the rest of the world. </offtopic> ok, remove it. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

I get the feeling they will get much more money through the Diamond Supporters than from little microtransactions.
Every week there are like 2 new Diamond S. uniques released, that's $2000 per week Unless I'm heavily underestimating the number of people buying them...? Anyways, I think it'd give you guys better revenue, and some players better sense of "contributing", if you guys added more custom content to "pay to include" other than just uniques. Dunno what it can be though... ...how about monsters? Have people pay $2000 to create a monster that will appear in the area of their choice. Maybe create both unique monsters in specific areas, as well as normal "types" of monsters. Since you guys are planning on adding 1 act per year or stuff like that, why not let players add custom content there? Let some players add new areas themselves, and give them the ability to design them Maybe give some players the ability to add new quests too. Maybe give them the ability to create new NPCs at town. Maybe give them the ability to create those new Unique monsters I talked about and new monsters for those areas. Maybe give them the ability to create new environmental features, like new buildings that are added randomly in some areas, or stuff like that. You could both get MONEY and CREATE CONTENT FASTER, so you can spend more time balancing the game. It's a win-win :P You could even add more acts per year, maybe 2-3 if you get enough custom content and support. If someone pays to be part of the "custom act", then GGG emails them the description of the new act, what the story is about, what the environement is about, what the main quests are about etc, and the player decides what to create based on that The player would not only pay to create content, but also pay to gain a "sneak peek" of the next act :P Is there a flaw with this "custom content" system though? I haven't seen GGG talk too much about "extending" it or anything. |

" no,sorry Chris, but you should have no worries about advertising deals on the login screen. for me you can put even 20 ads,i don't care...people should stop to be concerned and bitch about it. it's your right to advertise your micros, keep it up.
" he already knew it was his right, you dont have power to give anyone rights to do anything, we are just saying it isn't pleasant to look at , or appreciated by many of us |
|
ah i see, isn't pleasant and not really appreciated...so unless you are purely talking about style, what should they do then?

" Pretty sure that the advertising banner on log-in gives the game that tacky Funcom-esque feel. If they want to show the daily deal in game, then I believe the BEST place to to put it would be when you start up the game, and the game checks files for updates, and you press play. Just put it in the corner somewhere. Obviously, that is only visible during a patch for the most part. If they still want it to be in the log-in screen, then take away the bright colors. It really is tacky. Would you want the game to have an advertisement for all of their microtransactions on every loading screen, and you know, have them flash around too? No, it makes the game look like shit. There's a balance between how intrusive your "advertising" should be, and currently, I think it's above what I'd prefer. Maybe just a little box like this... Daily Deal: (item image) (item name) (% discount) No red and green colors. It isn't Christmas. |

" this is straw man fallacy. actually there is no ad on loading screen,so there is no said problem to discuss about. " that's right, what you'd prefer. me instead i am ok with it you know? afterall if i really would want to suggest a position,i'd put it down in the box below where you type your password,so you surely won't miss it. i think the guys tought about that too,but maybe for now they can only input text in there,so it's not viable. the ad displayed only during the patch is not good, lot of people launches the patch and then leaves it in background,so no,not the best place at all.
" well we dont care that YOU dont mind it we apparently do mind it |
