My only complaint after fighting him the first time is that he can off-screen you the instant you enter the arena. I lost my last 3 portals this way. I can't strafe + dash far enough by the time he beams - you don't know the exact direction or distance it's coming from, because he'll launch it before he's in sight, but knowing how far away he is would help in letting us know how quickly we need to react, to which direction etc.

Thats my problem too, also lost my last 2 portals because of he killed me off screen, when i was coming back from town.

That isnt good design.
I've been saying this for months, and they just ignore it.

Their coders are simply terrible, or whoever is forcing the decision to allow off-screen abilities doesn't have a clue.

Either they don't know how to limit the view range, in which case everyone playing 'normally' has to deal with off-screening. Or don't know how to limit the AI's data-range, either way, it's pathetic.

We're gonna let this boss guy shoot his big-ass beam 2 screens away, while you traverse those narrow paths to get back to the fight... yeah, real pro design GGG.

Sirus is.. sirusly?

how not to make an endgame boss:

- boss has no lore, appears out of nowhere, no buildup, no personality, nothing (aka: who cares about him?)

- make players walk, walk and walk to the arena. i know it is probably a result of cutting corners (i expect pre-fight to be initial design, like Catarina) but these interim areas of templar lab are just.. wtf?

- make a fight that COMPLETELY ignores significant part of game mechanics. Evasion is 100% useless in this fight. Armour makes sense only as a VMS fuel because even 20k AR does nothing vs his attacks. momentum based effects - useless thanks to invulnerability phases, same with flasks (except ofc: Pathfinder)

- repeat the same phase 3 times. sirusly?

- apply generously blobs of dark-red-on-dark-gray effect on dark-red-on-dark-gray bacground taking special care to make only SOME of these effects to actually do damage. just for lulz

- make fight downright unfair to some archetypes (melee? hellooo?) by requiring you to both run from danger AND deal damage while at the same time making it very easy to other

- due to time constrains and holidays make the 'theme' of the fight 1m/s DoT zones that dont match their visuals.

- to hide that all, make the boss access purely random. you know - it fits the lore (it doesnt) and is engaging experience when players are surprised that they just randomly unlocked this fight (it isnt engaging)

note, ive killed him with 2h EQ Marohi on my 3rd and most probably last attempt (1st one: stairs, 2nd one: Stairs) so the difficulty etc is not a problem but the entire experience, quality, polish, design is REVOLTING

oh and the loot :) one influenced junk base + 1c helmet. i know you could drop awakened multistrike, i know. but chances are slim, getting to try him is random (bs design) and.. there are much faster ways of earning currency if one still cares about that

2/10 fight, some leveling act bosses have better design and PERSONALITY. Sirus is an epitome of bland. I wonder where did the Izaro designer and writer go?

Wash your hands, Exile!
Ok so Sirus fight not impossible, I could kill it too, BUt it needs 5-6 portals to do it and sometimes I run out of portals. 1st the folowing storm phase made the fight impossible. Now it's nerfed and they move randomly but they buffed the multibeam damage which makes me die 5-6 times. Sometimes when I enter the arena and try to get back to sirus I just get the multibeam from 2 screens away which instantly kills me... Like sirusly?
As far as I know that multibeam instafreeze then instakills you no matter how much HP you got if it touches you and it doesn't have such indicators and delay as shaper beam especially when it's fired 2 screens away. Sirus fight gives me more cancer than Catarina fight did when it came out with her invisible invulnerable phases.

For me Sirus fight is like i damage him until he does the 12clone phase, he instakill with the beam then i die 3-4 times getting back to him due to offscreen multibeams, it's frustrating as hell.

After moving to my BV as main "boss killer" the fight is ridiculously stupidly easy after the nerfs and unentertaining. I haven't practiced the fight enough yet last 2 kills went deathless even without any hickup.

Now I can stand on top of the boss since that is how i deal dmg, the environmental attacks deals no dmg (since I am flaskfinder i have 100% flask uptime and GGG nerfed everything to the ground), decent movement speed to move out of all phases, deathbeam is easy to avoid since i stand on top of the boss and even slight movement puts me out of line of attack.

So from Warchief Totems into Blade Vortex, the fight has become easy and boring from impossible (despite my Warchief Totem build has still more dmg on paper, faster first phases)

So the beef remains with the RNG atlas play and spawning variance from 3 to 30+ maps per each conqueror.
UAtziri and UElder fights are still the TOP of PoE and lvl8 Sirus does not come close.

3.13 was the golden age.
no staff post at all in any of these kind of posts... they dont give a shite.

The fight is busted and a pathetic attempt to do better at something they should've given up on after catarina.

STOP TRYING TO BE DARK SOULS
So wanted to make a second comment since I whiffed my second one with much better gear on A2 (rather than A5). I just don't understand; what kind of mechanic is it that he can lock you in a corridor where your only options are stand and die, or at least try to escape and have to run into a storm and die?

That's not a mechanic. That's instant death without counterplay. Wild.
horrible boss so badly thought out and drawn, one of the dumbest bosses in the history of video games! yuck
