Please Remove 10% Exp Loss on Death
" I gave mine. No exp loss, no portal limit, but if you die you lose the instance. Porting out doesn't refill flasks untill you finish the instance or it expires. If you start another instance you lose the previous. Delve is treated like it's today: a couple short delve runs are on instance, longer paths considered one instance, or every delve is an instance regardless of size. Pretty simple and doesn't affect HC players in the sense they lose two times (exp plus HC death). Hell we already have it in game: labs. You either finish the map/instance/boss/whatever in one try or you don't finish at all. "But if I have to AFK?" No problem, port out, AFK, go back. "But if I have to trade?" No problem, port out, trade, go back. In that you must also ban logout macros. Enough with that shit. The oncoming league Heist takes one step forward: if you die you also lose the loot. For me it's a bit too much but makes sense. "There's no thing like random one-shots in this game. You only die because you take 353,456,237 hits in 0.2 seconds."

" That would be horrible for noobs/players still learning the game. They die in every map usually while figuring stuff out, they'd probably just leave the game in frustration when they cannot even sustain white maps |

" Worse than exp loss? I doubt that. Currently it's worse for noobs/new players: they try to brute force their way to finishing the map/boss/etc, and fail all the portals, losing 60% of exp, and in the end they end up like "fuck this game" and quit. What did they learn from that experience? If they only lose the instance its way more important to learn than exp loss. You didn't lose much, you lost the opportunity to earn more. That would teach them to not bite more than can chew. Even people who already hit levle 100 would get another motivation to "keep gud": if you die, you lose. How many level 100 still play as carefull as they played while leveling? Or how many level 100 that payed to get there can really sustain level 100? For new players it's definetely worse than exp loss. The current penalty only really becomes an issue at level 95+. 90 is about the level where you start noticing it at all, everything before that you can literally bruteforce your way to the next level up.
Your suggestion would hit new players right from the start when they try to get into maps and could, in a worst case scenario, even lead to a situation where they don't have any maps left to run. While at the same time, for any experienced player, your suggestion would be entirely meaningless. Everyone would sail to 100 with no issues and even if you die sometimes, given the abundance of maps you get once your atlas is completed, the loss of a map here and there wouldn't matter at all. So yeah, not a fan at all. Your version hits newer players harder and veterans not at all. The game should get harder the further you get, not hit you with a wall when you start. losing 10% of accumulated xp would be a better system
-have 20% xp, lose 2% xp when you die -have 90% xp, lose 9% xp when you die Last edited by DieAbolicaL#5323 on Sep 14, 2020, 5:39:21 AM

" It's already a wall for end game, you know, 90+. Before that even new and noob players reach at least yellow maps if they read something about the game. I myself reached Shaper the very first time I played the game... And then I started to struggle because I couldn't get past 90 or do end game maps because I was clueless. Besides why everybody says exp loss only matter at 90+? Because new players don't get affected by it! Anyway, my suggestion, as requested. What are others? Diminishing returns? Losing the instance is an interesting suggestion. Perhaps a compromise would be to only start losing the instance at level 80, 85, or 90? Something like that?

" TLDR : I die too much and can't do the level 100 grind so I'm going to cry and complain to GGG to remove a mechanic they added to give a "feel of a loss to make you more aware as a player that death has a penalty, small, but noticeable penalty." Then I'm going to generalize to validate my point. Anyway, I have done the level 100 grind and I can tell you this from first hand experience (Not some random numbered reference like your "20 year" remark. The XP penalty makes me appreciate my progress more and be more serious about the grind. " How did you grind to level 100? What did you do to reach it? |

Map progression to 90. Delve 92-93. Once I hit 93 (this was Delerium league) I spammed simulacrum ROTAS (So 6 people, 6 runs in one session) back to back until 95-96.
96 to 100 was all pure chayula breachstone ROTAS. I've heard of people doing Timeless legion 5 ways for XP but to be honest I feel like the chayula is a much safer bet as by this time in the league most people that are grinding to 100 are at a good level in gear and tend to have an aurabot/support in the party to prevent anyone from dying. Chayula are very very fast and efficient. Timeless legion takes awhile to setup. You need a good carry (usually HH/inspired learning deadeye), a support, a person to reset the mobs. Just my opinion / method. Buying Tattoos (Settlers) #3654153 ★ How To Itemize Beasts? #3559583 Unlock Sandwraith Map Device Kill Tracker #3461595 ★ Deli Music Off #3450767
