Charan and I have bumped heads a few times. Yes, he could sometimes be abrasive and use language that is easy to interpret as condescending.

But I've had far worse interactions with many members of this community who are not judged nearly as harshly for their posting style. I can only assume that a high profile makes one more easily targetable.

I've also seen him shut down posters who, let's be honest here, deserved to be shut down. Let's not pretend that the high ratio of low-quality posts on this forum is anything new.

Based on your posts in this thread, I can only guess he did something to offend you personally. Do you have a personal stake in this?

He's been "gone" before though. Not this long, I admit, but at least a month. And now it's barely past 2.

The point is, as long as he still has an active account, he can credibly come back at any time. He's not actually gone-gone, he's just choosing to not interact.

If all his accounts were deleted, then someone in the future that showed up claiming to be Charan would not be credible. So that'd be a meaningful exit.

The only times I noticed Charan being condescending is when someone was making a viewpoint from a position of ignorance or personal bias. He normally had much to say that was insightful with his closer relationship with and early access to what GGG was working on currently and in the future. He obviously knew well before ExileCon that GGG was making a major socket mechanic change which he personally didn't like and that coupled with other issues (like what happened to get him on probation) finally was the last straw for him. His alt-account is still working so he isn't necessarily gone permanently, but his daily posts into all kinds of PoE topics has ceased. I will miss his high quality comments and perspectives on all things PoE.

It's entirely normal for people to judge somebody harsher that projects himself as superior to others by means of sophistry.

That has nothing to do with being "high-profile" it's simply a "ok, you get what you asked for" projection.
If you want to proclaim the high-ground don't expect people to neglect mentioning your faults to you.

And i don't see how me personally being offended has any relation to me stating that Charan hasn't left the game and is still active on the forums with another account making this thread illogical.

He stated on multiple occasions that if he were to leave, he would do so without making a fuss.
I don't know about you, but i consider asking to remove your entire post history as "making a fuss" for other people's threads by removing context from them.
I consider that a narcissistic move, ignoring the impact on others of the community.
But we are both free to disagree on that.

@Exxxiled, the thread would have been gone already if the_impeacher and Farystar didn't continuesly bump it to first page when it drops to third page with redundant drivel messages.

What an absolutely asinine argument you have there. Commenting isn't the same as deliberately bumping.

To look at the offending bumpers intent on keeping it on the front page, look no further than the time since the last comment.

It's not a big deal to comment on it when it's already in the first 20 topics. But when you're repeatedly commenting on it from the second page you're clearly bumping it on purpose.


With that said, the last major bump offender was actually de99ial, not you or the_impeacher.
