I feel like the OP necromancer builds are going to have nothing to do with minions, especially since Mistress of sacrifice got unnerfed, there were standard caster builds who took necromancer just for that, and were OP while doing nothing to do with minions. *Lv39 is now the highest possible gem level:-* Spoiler How to achieve Gem Lv39: Corrupt a Herald of Purity gem to Lv 21 Duel-Weild Cold Iron Point. This grants 6 more Gem Levels. [Total: 27] Take the new Necromancer node; Unnatural Strength for +2 levels. [Lv29] Get a Level 4 Empower and link it with your skill for +3 levels. [Level 32] Use either a Shaper or Elder base; combined with a Faceted Fossil to craft +1 STR Gems; and either +1 to Active skill gems on a Shaper Base or +1 to Support gems on an Elder base [Due to Empower]. This grants another +3 gem levels. [Level 35] Finally; double-corrupt your body Armour with +1 to Socketed Gems [+2 levels due to Empower] and +2 levels to duration gems This grants Herald of Purity another 4 Gem levels, reaching an effective Gem Level 39; which is the highest possible in the game currently, and 1 below the 'cap' of 40.
