Hmmm so I guess a few max zombie passives will be disappearing. Good I guess! Baron zombies will be pleased!
if "7 max zombie " is a hard cap , this is a nerf ... u can have a lot more with the old version.

I'm sure they will still have most of the sources of additional zombies in skill tree. Maybe a few are removed.

Probably irrelevant in the long run, the crux of summoners being OP is the AI changes associated with the other gems they are adding. They could leave zombies and skeletons exactly as they are right now if the AI makes them efficient they'd already be pretty busted.

It mostly looks like they are shifting necro bonuses onto the gem so that you don't have to go necro to use skeletons/zombies, though that doesn't really fit their recent mantra of making one ascendancy have special nodes for a particular set of skills so... I don't know.

If they added new but equivalent power buffs to necro though these are definitely going to be opie opie as you put it but the AI is what limits them currently.
Sounds like necro is about to get kicked in a face like other two ascendancies before.
We can't even discuss these out of context. They've changed the Necromancer, obviously. Talking about these gems without knowing what they've done is like having a discussion about Abstract Algebra with a three year old. It's cute. People will smile and laugh at it. But it's really fucking pointless.

I really hope they're not teasing what could ultimately be a huge nerf to actual big-N Necromancers.

Because this sounds more like a Summoner-Guardian buff so far :P

Nah not really.

With the gem changes mentioned zombies are almost as good used by other non-necromancer classes. I am assuming the slam cooldown on the gem gains 2% per gem level (starting at ~50% at lvl 1) so it gains that back, and overall gets +2 zombies unless they are restructuring the entire passive tree and not just the ascendancy (it's possible i suppose).

The context missing would be "how strong are these zombies going to be with everything they have right now (now on the gem) IN ADDITION to whatever the new necromancer ascendancy gives.

I'm kinda thinking the Ascendancy will go on a tangent, but they might just add another layer of OP stuff to minions so they can nerf it in 3.9.

Honestly, I'm mostly keen to run a minion build again that ISNT a necromancer. I quite liked the Guardian for it which i did in perandus league, but it really lacks the DPS of a necromancer.

Why would the cooldown start at 50%? What we see here is an absolutely perfect example of what the scaling would look like if it were 4% per level and started at 0.
