So am I correct in assuming that if I'd have 100% attack speed from passive tree/items, that cyclone will then be 300+100=400% of the base attack speed? Or doesn't it scale beyond the gem?

" I'm still not sure what "BASE" attack speed is right now. -If base is the as before any buff then it simply 300% 300%(Base) -If base is your as with all the buff then it would be. 300%(Base+Extra stat) or in that case 300%(100%+100%) = 600% ? Cyclone was at 50% more as before traduce into a 150% modifier but cyclone is at 300% (Doubling it but maybe won't be affected by bonus on attack speed modifier) |

" Have you look what cyclone was before ? 56.4% Lv 20 No added 100%+50% More Attack speed (Instead of 300% Base Attack speed) It all depend on how The keyword "Base" work. Because soo far all I see are buff. Let not forgot that this bonus damage is also multiply by physical damage kinda like how spell work it to give a chance for people that doesn't play weapon with a high base damage and also leave more weapon choice. At this point arguing about buff/nerf is totally unproductive. It is what it is. Start talking about how to use the new skill most effectively. What supports are people planning on using? What Ascendancy/Keystones? What gear?
All this bickering about changes is inconsequential. |

hmm do i assume after the patch cyclone will get the "strike" tag or does it keep the "attack" tag? just wondering about the support gems possible with this.

"It's not stated anywhere but it's extremely unlikely to still be 2 per spin at 300% attack speed. "Only single target attack skills get the Strike tag. Basically any skill that could already be supported by Melee Splash. |

" It's unchanged. Base AS is either the base speed of a weapon, or the base charcter AS if unarmed, before any modifiers apply. Sources of "increased" are additive with each other and multiplicative to the base, and apply first in the order of calculations, "more" is multiplicative to total damage an applies last. As far as I can get, in terms of AS gain, new cyclone is a nerf to builds with fastest weapons massively stacking AS by additional sources. But it's a buff to slower weapons with moderate additional AS increase. With unarmed, it's a MASSIVE buff. If we leave AS aside and consider DPS, it's likely a buff to everyone (the added phys damage). May eventually affect builds with ridiculous AS stacking and result in net DPS loss. Or at least that's how I see it. This is a buff © 2016
