For the record, I'd be perfectly fine with IC being nerfed into the ground if they were going to offer real defensive alternatives.

For example if armour - one of the three most fundamental defence types in the game - actually did anything useful past white maps.

Only GGG has explicitly said they're not changing armour. I don't see any reason to expect actually-meaningful buffs to defence given what we've been shown so far.

Try to base your reactions on actions not promises which haven't even been made.

First u guys are saying that ele-damage is what kills, now all the sudden its physical.
Can't u guys see that this is a fair balance.

Seems good on paper with more options to choose what to reduce damage-taken through cwdt.
So whats really happening is your getting rid of the old IC that was good 100% immunity (for the most part even if it was short) to gain some % reduction but need to time it and may not be able to be used with CWDT that isnt as good as old IC and that cant be used with the other skills listed?

Guess we will have to see how it plays out but it seems like a nerf to me

I'm kinda glad it's been changed, as it's kinda bad for a setup that is so called "mandatory" to have for most builds.

this makes me hyped for the new league, as I want to see if we can gain even bigger "immortality" than old IC :P

Has GGG ever stated their stance on potentially removing the exp penalty upon death?

I'd be perfectly fine with dying in less than half a second from offscreen or invisible enemies if there was no consequence of losing hours of progress! :^)



I agree with this. Even if it's something that only applies to standard or something. That or if the exp penalty isn't 10%...at higher levels if you die it's just so annoying....those bad luck days where you're at 90% and then you die 2 maybe even 3 times and suddenly hours of work vanish...it's annoying.

Some builds use molten shell in place of IC (i think i do on one or 2 of my melees) or just dont really need anything else so the links go to IC

I cant say if this will be good or bad but i dont like skills that last 1 second like these do if they cant be linked to CWDT (but really i hate that to since you have to be hit in the first place but what can ya do)

We need a new gem since i think the game already calcs your damage and if your going to be hit before you are....

Cast Before Damage Taken! triggers right before your about to be hit for X% of hp :D
GGG buff life and minions pls and add somewhere 87+ level area or zone to summon spectres

Haha! That's a funny idea, but unfortunately it would just encourage the same passive hands free defence immortal call does now.
Looks great! Always a fan of mechanics akin to fighting style games that add higher skillcurve. Armour as an added incentive to scale this is also great, as currently armour is rather meh, when compared to its alternatives. Excited to see how the new update shapes the defensive meta for most builds.
