Developer Q&A - Part I
Oh, and one more answer that i thoroughly disliked was about Betrayal not being account-wide and the reasoning for it.
Guys, let's be real here, very few people actually go and kill the Mastermind. The discouragement of starting a new character in regards to Betrayal isn't that you'll lose your Mastermind progress - it's that you'll lose a full Syndicate board with lots of connections that take a LONG time to set up properly. Essentially, after you start a new character, your Betrayal experience will be gutted for a decent amount of time - and i completely understand why some people just don't feel like doing it. |

" "It has been 18 months since you posted the Trade Manifesto. Do you still stand by it?" "This question prompted a long discussion. Many hours of senior developers talking about trade. Our conclusion was: Yes, we do stand by everything we wrote in the manifesto. We are not adding a Trade Market to the PC version of Path of Exile. " That would be a "no" to your auction house ^^ EDIT: and that's the best news so far I'm glad they don't listen to bad ideas. Last edited by Fapmobile#0758 on May 2, 2019, 11:23:22 PM

My last post in this thread so I dont spam it.
Chris, read the posts regarding trade. One person who had a bad experience with D3, and the rest horribly disappointed in you. Really? Really, you think you current system is good? I call BS. I dont think you play the game. I congratulate you on your millions made, I do. But I know you are a gamer at heart, and PoE is a passion project in addition to being a payday. There is nothing I can say better than people have said here. Incredibly disappointed in you. |

What do you think about a system where you could stack up a league mechanic, ie. temples, safehouses, etc.; and then do them when you felt like it? Currently it feels like you're forced out of your mapping flow (which is the core game), and have to run a temple now, oh a safehouse is up, now I have to go to the nexus, and if I don't, I'm being inefficient.
I disagree with having league mechanics being part of your map pool, but at least being able to run them when you want to seems like a reasonable middleground. Is this possible? |

GGG the past few months:
I don't know what the solution is to the trade dilemma, but I do know that spending 1.5 hours to buy three maps because it's more profitable to *not* trade is an issue. Also, gating scarabs (and crafting recipes) behind league content is not a solution to players feeling disconnected from content with which they choose to engage. Rolling Betrayal into core was clusterfuck of awful. Beat using an exclusive race to promote their esports push is fine; you using the Beat's exclusive race to promote the game and ExileCon is not. I'm glad to hear that you're scaling back from the large, ambitious leagues for the time being. It seems you're aware that you've bitten off more than you can chew. But I'm not sure you can step back enough to fix all of the problems that are growing too large to ignore. |

Thanks for a great Q&A!
As a side note, its possible to avoid Intervention by logging out and then starting a new map. Also its very rare to get Betrayal anyway in maps I havent been avoiding the encounters, but thats because im in SSF-SC i suppose. Also my defense is good enough in most cases |

Bah, a lackluster Q&A session as intended.
Our mighty TencentGGG overlords "know best what's the BEST for it's player base", but can't be bothered to comprehend that "you can't have your cake and eat it too at the same time". Best post regarding the dismantle of the "trade stance":
Spoiler
" Hopefully all the players get it that TRADING can't be "touted" as a "core aspect" in PoE, and is simply the pretext used for addressing "balancing drops" in the way they currently are. No one WANTS or NEEDS a FULL BLOWN AH, as long as TencentGGG actually manage to implement asynchronous trading (the kind that actually lets players trade in a TIMELY MANNER even when offline would be best, but lets settle to the cross instances one for starters), and a satisfying experience regarding said CORE ASPECT when you have a GLOBAL PLAYER BASE, which can't be bothered to actually keep their promise of SELLING for a stated price, except for the first few minutes, as a later request will further prompt a price recheck if the item is at least somewhat "valuable". But please be the ostrich TencentGGG, keep it up and enjoy what's coming. Hopefully real alternatives to PoE will start appearing as soon as later this year and we'll get to see if their stance doesn't change... PS: Not to mention that addressing trading "properly", would help "retention" by a landslide, even if no further QoL would be applied... PSS: Our almighty TencentGGG overlords are very scrupulous regarding criticizing their abilities to take proper decisions and consider everything "needlessly harsh and condescending"... Good to know "free speech" doesn't apply in any form or manner on the forums these days... Last edited by sofocle10000#6408 on May 2, 2019, 11:46:31 PM

I know the real reason we haven't been allowed to have more than 7~8 active skills is because of the goals to port to controller consoles, but only getting a few active skills has always been a huge limiting factor in the builds that I make. It is more limiting to have 7~8 active skills than any other limitation in the game for the majority of builds I have made. Is there any way to squeeze a few more skills into the game now that the controllers have more buttons than they did years ago?

"We're trying hard to control the level of power creep over time so that people's previous-best items are not made irrelevant. It's quite difficult and expensive to use these crafting systems to make something incredibly good, so the relative power level of previous mirror-worthy items in Standard is still quite high. "
But this is the point of making new items that are better than (i used than instead of then! yay?) the old items people have... i dont really get why you would go out of your way to try to save people sad feelings when really they should be happy theres something they can upgrade to now thats better (>a goal) Maybe its because you cant upgrade items so easily as you have to replace the whole thing But there are options here to fix this if you really wanted to (my stat orb idea posted on this forum for one) |

1. Speed meta
2. Crafting 3. Rares not worth picking up 4. Trade These problems are all related. I really cannot emphasize this enough. |
