Developer Q&A - Part I

Synthesis is ok but need so many time just to find da way since all bosses spawn randomly with a very far distance.
Getting in Delve or a Delve node needs luck since game needs so many tries to load, always "loading azurite mine..." then nothing. Come on, it's a bug from Delve league and now it's STILL NOT FIXED. My new record is spending 15 mins just to get in a delve depth, especially low depths (<400)
I had to spend 100$ to buy a HDD hard drive so i can play the game without freezing, crashing every time encounter syndicate

It has been 18 months since you posted the Trade Manifesto. Do you still stand by it?

This question prompted a long discussion. Many hours of senior developers talking about trade. Our conclusion was: Yes, we do stand by everything we wrote in the manifesto. We are not adding a Trade Market to the PC version of Path of Exile.

It's hilarious that trading maps/frags and currency is in such a state that you don't even ban tradebots anymore and is what makes the trade less frustrating. And that is really sad since I hate bots.

Trade experience, generally talking, is the top1 frustrating experience for every single path of exile player despistes lag, crash, etc.

I'm glad I'm not supporting this game for a long time...

Waiting for trade improvements for the next supporter pack. Still.

If you don't want to fix trade no problem, bro. But I'm not spending 1 cent around until you take a look on this.

I literally pass more time trading than playing in this game and thats fucking bullshit.

Mostly a good post, i'm cool with the majority of those answers.
But yeah, the game really needs a map\currency\fragment trading system that doesn't suck. Leave the actual items as they are, but allow for a proper exchange of three aforementioned things, and i'd h0nestly shut up about trade forever.

Loving that we're getting some answers to questions I know a lot of the community has been having, and until reading this I didn't have anything specific that I wanted to ask, but hope my newfound question can possibly be addressed in round 2. TLDR AT BOTTOM

~~ I noticed that in a lot of the answers given by Chris and the dev team, there's a feeling of "It's definitely something we've considered and hope to address, but it hasn't been a priority."

That being said--because there are so many of these low-priority QOL changes, and everyone that plays has at least 3 things they are annoyed with QOL-wise, is there any chance we could see a low-intensity league (old league reskin or something, perhaps 3 month event rather than a league...idk?) where this plethora of low-priority, yet high annoyance issues are addressed?

I bring this up because Path of Exile is, "designed to be played forever" and we hear a lot of emphasis about keeping the long-term in mind, but most expansions seem focused on the new content and the short term, while maybe addressing 1 or 2 of the long-term things. Overall we've seen a trend of an increasing number of annoyances that remain low-priority and while just 1 of them isn't enough to make someone quit, I've known more and more people who have left POE simply because the annoyances pile up. While Reddit isn't always the best POE community, I've seen far more people stating this there than in previous years, and I think it's starting to be too much for people.

If the team could take 2-3 months and maybe address more of these issues rather than new content, I'm sure sales and player count would drop for those 3 months, but I have a feeling it would benefit POE in the long run more. It would give the game a fresh new feel, and while people would have to wait for a bit of the content binge they're used to, they would have a lot more fun experiencing the new content rather than getting frustrated with, for example, people stealing things in bulk from the guild stash or the state of leeching parties or whatever, and letting that spill over into their view of the league as a whole. I think that may have been part of the frustration with Synthesis, in addition to the already-known problems.~~

TLDR; Is there a chance we'll see the low-priority annoyance issues addressed in bulk during a minimal effort league that's easy for the team to implement so they stop piling up so much? (*ahem* standard map tabs not disappearing when empty for over a year now *ahem*)

Having said that, Scarabs and other game mechanics can help you trade for more Delve time.
