Those are two separate pieces of conduct, and as such need to be considered separately:

1. Allowing developers to take a scheduled holiday.

2. Consistently releasing material in an unfinished state due to an overly aggressive release schedule.

The part of my post that you didn't quote explains which of the two posters regularly fixate upon and why.

But let's grant you your point for the sake of argument, and because reddit is a wretched hive of scum and villainy.

If redditors did indeed heavily criticize GGG for doing both of the above, then which of the two criticisms actually merits a direct response from the company's leader?

And which did he respond to?

Although the league was overall disappointing, I must give credit where credit is due. Thank you for being honest with the players. Thank you guys for doing your best trying to fix the issue. Hopefully, it'll be an experience to learn and improve on the production line along the way. The concept of Synthesis is great and interesting, for sure. Quite unfortunate that the execution was... not-on-par. Though, there are things that are done right, nonetheless. Synthesized items are great for end-game crafting. Memory portals in maps is a good spice for mapping. Farmable bosses for earlier end-game is a really good idea cuz it really helps to break the monotone. Hopefully you guys would consider adding these in one way or the other in the future leagues.

Synthesis might have broken Intervention. Hopefully, it gets fixed.

I apreciate your honesty but the reality is, some leagues are good, some others are not. And the "not so good" ones expose long term problems, like the map tab in Standard or Syndicate lag. I've made a huge effort to continue playing this league, almost getting the 36 challenges... and I played because I love PoE (it's my new Diablo) but sometimes, decisions like no dtx9 support or little information about huge new leagues damages the player base.

Keep that in mind.

A few thoughts.

In light of the effort spent in trying to incorporate Synthesis into the story, deciding to retire Synthesis at league end couldn't exactly be an easy choice - no one wants to give up something they've put considerable effort into, even if the result was (by their own admission) sub-par. I admit that I've found this league rather..."meh", at best.

After a bit over six years of playing this game, though (on my down time - my bills are paid in full first!), I'm optimistic for 3.7.0 and 4.0.0. Since there's only so many people, so many resources to go around, I get that things happen, stuff needs to be prioritized, and inevitably, things will just fall through the cracks. That's just the nature of the beast.

That all said, given what you've all tried to do - especially over the past going on two years since 3.0 was launched - I'd be fine with 3.7.0 lasting longer to make sure 4.0.0 is up to snuff, even if that delay is just so that you guys get a brain break (I imagine you need one right about now). I think at this point, a slower, more deliberate pace is warranted, and if the quarterly league rotation winds up missing a quarter, then so be it.
Always good to see Chris absorb all the sins of his game developers with a single post.

I suspect an engine rewrite for 4.0 so hopefully a fresh new experience is around the corner. Sink or swim!
