3.5 Abyssal Summoner guide
" I found melee splash skellies just fine if you want to give up on arc. |
" cool, thanks for the quick replies, looking forward to bringing this to red maps :) ill try to post here with some info on how it goes. thanks for the guide! |
" Videos are up. There's one of my SSF toon in Betrayal league with rubbish gear. Using a delve character, I did T14 maps with both skellies and SRS. Damage was at about 50% as I used no EE and no charges for minions. |
is flame dash used to proc EE? if so, is there an easier/aoe spell to use? Firestorm maybe?
I just did lab and got Commandment of Spite = cold damage :D rip EE

" Similar thing happened to me = the answer is to run Normal lab quickly and try to get a non-ele enchant to overwrite your Grip enchant with. @grimlock9999: Do you use two Frenzy charge apes or one Frenzy and one Power? I'm not sure which is better and how to simulate the difference in PoB. | |
" Firestorm is fine, I just like the idea of kiting and proccing EE at one time with faster cast speed. Brand spells could be good too. Proccing EE will reduce your clearspeed, so it's not necessary except for hard fights. EE using lightning damage will only reduce your DPS by a little bit vs fire damage, so all the lightning spells are on the table too. (You just have to replace physical to lightning gem with elemental focus). Cold damage will mean it's not worth your effort. |
" I run with one of each, but if the host chieftain dies and I'm lazy, 2 frenzy apes are also fine. Frenzy charges are easily the best: they give flat damage and movespeed to minions, plus phasing duration to you. Power charges give nice defence, as your minions have a higher chance to chill or freeze. Power charges may also proc shock, the value of which is open to debate, as it depends on the total HP of enemies. To see the effects, In PoB go to the 'configure' tab and choose minions use frrenzy/power charges. To compare the effects, go to the 'calcs' tab and select the drop down menu that shows buffed, unbuffed, in combat and dps. It will show you your stats as a base, with utility spells and auras, with charges or with everything. |

just hit maps after leveling today. cruel lab is where the pace started picking up when your skellies move faster and attacks don't miss.
picked up staff and holy moly, these little guys destroy everything in their path. also, the survivability is nice. i'm running jade flask with % increased evasion during effect, dodge flask, and a cwdt+ic set up. i was also thinking of dropping sulphur flask for romi's for more block to add on top of staff. with all the meat shields and speed, i see this being pretty safe imo. unless a syndicate mob jumps on you, or you don't dodge an attack, i don't think i'll be dying as much as my jugg or winter orb character. the damage is actually crazy, wasn't expecting this lol. first time playing summoner and it won't be the last. gonna try to get into reds tonight and i'll let you know how it goes. |

I ran normal lab in about 10 minutes and was able to overwrite my Council enchant with an on-kill one so I think we are good again!
I also got my 3B2R shroud today too which is a big difference in single target. Paid 1.1ex for a 5L and then manually coloured it. Honestly even with my really bad jewels I am just wrecking everything (up to t12 at the moment). I want to try to make some money so that I can upgrade all my rings/amulet and replace Purity of Elements with Vaal Haste again, but I'm having trouble making money at any reasonable pace. I ran a bunch of infested valleys tonight because the linear layout is kinda insane with soulwrest/bubonics. I am not really getting all that much out of them even with chisels + alch. Should I be vaaling yellow maps? |
