Veiled Mods: Focus

Honestly this seems like a super-weak mechanic to build around unless all skill effect duration and cooldown modifiers affect it completely (in which case you could have permanent focus if the duration overlaps with the cooldown rather than the cooldown starting after the duration is over).
Can you please stop making mechanics like this?

Also rework elementalist so people who A) want to play elemental spells on witch and B) can't stand periodic buffs have a class they can play

yeah seems kinda eh. Wasting mods on gear even if you can stack different things on different pieces of gear for only 12 seconds. I think the skill duration nodes should effect it, or rethinking how it's used. I honestly could see this as an aura/aspect or a triggered effect. I for one am not going to waste a mod, that could be more life, resistance, etc, etc for a 12 second ability that I have to micromanage in a fight that I have less than 6 seconds to think and react. Plus we don't know how the "focus" is used. Is it like a channeling skill, a toggle, a tap and go, etc, etc. Doesn't seem worth it.

I could also see this as an effect that happens when you trigger the skill that is in said piece of gear. Example, I have a 6 link chest piece with a focus veiled mod on it. When I use the skill that is on the 6 link, lets say firestorm. Then when I use firestorm, it triggers the focus veil mod. It only lasts for 12 seconds, but it's passive and triggers when I use a skill. You can do the same thing for each gear slot. That would be interesting, depending on the focus mods.

Well, this is pretty disappointing.

Well, it uses a gem slot for the Focus skill gem. Not entirely free, but its a design decision when you have extra gem slot not in use.

from what i got from the post you gain the skill once you equip an item with a focus mod on, so no gem slots

more keybind pls
Imagine a new type of focus called "agility" which is a free to use skill that acts like a flame dash but has instant cast and instant movement with a fairly sizeable cooldown. It would be such a huge deal for builds that dont already abuse the hell out of movement skills or are gem slot limited.

Or another called "mettle" which is a free to use skill that reduces all incoming damage by 50%, lasts a few seconds and has a crazy long cooldown. The possibilities are endless once GGG expands the skill bar.

33% uptime diamond flask, I'm pretty sure a crit heavy strike build could maintain better uptime.
Undisputed best alpha tester since Awakening beta.

Oh my god, so much this. I HATE unreliable / arbitrary mechanics, and not just for the Witch.

"Now you have life regen. Now you don't. No, you can't choose when you have life regen."

Triggers me so hard.
