Veiled Mods: Focus
Mph it feels like a very big investment just to make this thing better than enduring cry :D.

I like the new mechanic. It'll be interesting to see what other kinds of focus modifiers we will be able to find on gear. It uses up a slot on the piece of gear so this will probably be ideal for builds that have a hard time scaling with gear.

Love the new skills. Focus seems like a very interesting mechanic!
I wonder if we will be able to trigger Vaal Skills with the Mod "Trigger socketed spells when you Focus". Or maybe they could introduce a similar Mod for Vaal Skills? That would be awesome! I like my loot like my steak - RARE

I'm going to echo sentiment of posts on 1st page I have read...OMG another contender for place on skill/shortcut bar!
I also do not like 4 second duration, which is too short for my liking. Such short CDs are acceptable on flasks where you can usually use it multiple times back to back but here you are limited just to 4 seconds and then you have 8 seconds of downtime. |

It could be an interesting idea allowing us to effectively design our own buffs by adding several bonuses together. The fixed 4 seconds of use and 12 seconds of cooldown need to be alterable for this to be used extensively in many builds.

A possible solution for duration/cooldown is to make uses stackable. Not everybody can/want to play builds that delete bosses in less than 4 secs. For these players, Focus has very little use beyond the trigger opportunity. Hardly viable and absolutely not worth investing several item mods to custom a nice buff.
But if you make Focus a stackable skill with up to 3 maximum stacks (maybe a mod that increases it by 1), players could accommodate it's CD and duration to meet their needs. You could also add a mod with "Focus consumes all stacks on use. Focus has 100% more effect for each stack beyond first". So players worried about the duration can have longer durations at the cost of less availability. And players worried about the overall effectiveness of the skill itself can have stronger effects at the cost of both duration and availability -further making it a reliable option for boss fights. In other words, a fully customizable buff. Feel free to ckeck some skill suggestions:

I will say on the one hand - HOLY POWER CREEP!
On the other hand, this looks like an actual novel addition to the game, unlike Brands which are just traps/mines in sheeps' clothing. I remain interested in trying this mechanic and testing the breadth of possibilities. |
