Unless I have 3 or 4 focus items I dont think id use it as I have already seen more usefull veiled mods

Although it's too early to judge whether Focus will be a success or failure with 4 mods revealed, I think it is safe to say that the majority of players will ignore this content if you don't allow duration modifiers to apply.
This seems really odd, to me. Every other skill in the game allows for buff duration modification with the Increased Duration Support/passive nodes/certain unique items. Even the incredibly short duration (assuming you have zero endurance charges up) of Immortal Call can be increased. I'm hoping we get official clarification on the "fixed 4 seconds" statement soon. Bring back race seasons.

Not as good nor as bad as it seems at first look. To make a nice focus buff it would need many affixes, so this is not a reliable option unless focus veiled mods don't count for the total amount of them (which is very unlikely to happen).
As of about triggering socketed skill gems when focus, there are actually few options that fit in there. Blood rage, tempest shield, aura totems or maybe (MAYBE) offerings. Unless it's able to trigger vaal skills what again, is very unlikely to happen. Some builds would use it, but not too many. It could have a little (a liiiittle) more use if you implement a lv1 white focus gem, just like detonate mines anand portal. It'd make focus triggerable via CwdT, CoC, etc. Even at this hypothetical scenario we still have the problem of the focus buff itself being too weak for the affix cost it implies, but maybe it'd fit slightly better for some people. I'd suggest to add increased duration or, even better, cooldown recovery, per gem quality. So if you want this new focus skill to be more than just an anecdote, here you have some ideas: -Make focus mods to not count as affixes (you can, in example, limit to 1 focus mod per item to avoid the obvious abuse it would generate) -Make that helm mod to trigger vaal skill gems. -Implement a white focus gem with cooldown recovery per quality. From the mods I've seen so far, this is a hard pass.

would it be local item evasion or total character evasion? would ichimonji affect the buff duration? btw most of the people commenting about skillbar space don't consider the layered nature of PoE updates... even if there is not enough time to rework the keybindings at the moment, it will be done at some point really liked the concept of "focusing", means you have to enter "the zone" more often :) |
