These skills look amazing

i don't see how shattering steel would reliably hit a single target multiple times. lancing steel however looks like it could, but only up to a max of projectiles. if its like volley and all added projectiles just get further and further to the sides, only so many projectiles would hit a single target and any more would be inefficient.
lancing steel looks very promising for both clear and single target. unfortunately these phys dmg skills are always best utilized being fully converted anyway. with so many sources of % phys as added cold/fight/lightning and so many more and better elemental damage supports and passives, i just don't see anyone really using this as pure phys unless its with starforge. we'll see what the numbers and tags look like here. i have an idea for lancing steel but i am still pretty confident it won't compete with molten strike, depending how badly molten strike gets nerfed too |

My god, they are going to make volley a useful support gem now.

everyone keeps forgetting these are not melee skills at all, or at least its stated shattering steel is not. its a projectile skill. no melee involved. you just happen to attack with your weapon.
lancing steel seems like it could differ, but im not sure it would. maybe this is how molten strike could get nerfed. is take off the "melee" tag and attack portion and have it just projectile based. not being able to be supported with multistrike would hurt molten strike enormously in all counts. of course people would flip their lids at that idea, me included. i'd just find something else to play entirely (not game, but build wise). |

Does it matter that it isn't melee? It's "melee." It uses melee weapons, can leech, and is just yet ANOTHER AoE "melee" skill.
I've made a few posts, but the general issue I (and others have made) is this is just a continuation of the same problem while ignoring others. |
