Announcing Private Leagues

This will cause the game to split in two. The new WoW model side will get the majority of the dev attention because that's where the money is. However, considering how toxicly tryhard that attention typically is, perhaps it's a good thing.

But then the issue becomes how long will the free side even exist once they realize ho much money they can squeeze out of the WoW type streamers and rich fanboys.

Again, mixed feelings. This place is a toxic casino pawnshop simulator. Maybe it would be better if it imploded.
Too much censorship that you never even see. Totally removed posts and silenced accounts across all communities. https://www.youtube.com/@Innomen
bad idea we do not destroy our game please !!!
do not want to go back to blizzard
Private leagues - Awesome
Paid...
Ok cash grab
Very limited time and spots - greedy

only challenge modes - minority

This should of been a feature given back to the players for our long term support. It should be a 1 time fee for a league that has no time limit.
The player limit should be equal to the guild size - as this would have been a reason to be in a guild.

It should have let us check off any number of leagues to have active
or tiers to purchase for x number of leagues available.

Any drops should simply be void from entering the normal leagues.

People who call the price justified, please donate to the poor because you must be making 7 figures a year.

100 points per new friend. Friendship guaranteed for max 2 months.
No, just no.

Yet another update catering to the top % of hardcore players. For years I stuck with PoE because the game has many amazing elements to keep me here but this... This is just sad.

Can't shake the "you have less than 5 hours a day to play the game? lol, F you then!" vibe here. -.-

Why would a normal person pay to make the game MORE challenging is beyond me. o_O
Fracturing the player base and alienating another portion of the community was the plan all along?

This is a money making scheme, this is not GGG doing you a favor or following through on their initial idea (however they dress it up). I have spent a ton of cash playing this game & have been happy to do so, but less so recently & especially not for this. $150 this league alone & now they want more for me to have something interesting to do till the next expansion.

This idea will continue (or not) based purely on the number of, actual or perceived, $'s gained or lost.
Well... I actually love the concept, but not the way you are bringing it.

You always claimed to not be a pay-to-win game. Yet this new league = clearly pay-to-win. Actually, the way it is, players who do not put a single penny in this game can manage to play decently. Now with those leagues we have to pay coins for, that brings essentially the game to be either pay-to-play or pay-to-win, which is disgusting.

I guess Tencent got the best of you...

This pricing scheme is just beyond obscene. No thanks.

^This was my initial reaction. After having had some time to think about it, I'd like to provide some more constructive feedback.

My main concerns are:

Pricing Scheme:
After having spent literally thousands of dollars on this game I don't want to ever pay a "subscription fee" or use points on any kind of consumable mtx(skin transfer). I will only spend money on the game if what I get in return is something permanent(or at least until the game servers inevitably shut down in the distant future). I'd be willing to pay a larger, but ONE-TIME sum to permanently unlock 1 private league slot on my account, allowing me to edit it, start it and end it any time I choose. I don't mind having to pay for additional player slots for the league, though.

Duration of the league:
10 days is really not enough time for me to get anything done. 2 months is better, but still too short. I was hoping to be able to do long term leagues, across multiple temporary leagues, giving me time to do SSF, engage with league mechanics, but not lose my progress when the league ends. Essentially like Standard league, but with the mechanics of whichever league is running at the time, and the ability to complete challenges.

Only "challenge" mods, no fun mods:
I don't understand GGG's obsession with the Standard League economy. It's already broken beyond recognition, so why even bother? When I fantasized about custom leagues in the past I thought we'd have the ability to add multiple FUN league mods to our leagues, like permanent Beyond. You could restrict those to be unable to migrate to the temporary leagues to preserve those economies, and just feed them into Standard league which is silly to care about anyway. Hell, you could even prevent migration altogether, essentially making it a Voided league.

Philosophically, it's important to us that Private Leagues don't make the game easier. That's what special events like Flashback, Turmoil and Mayhem are for. We'll continue to run special events like these in the future.

Why is that important? I don't see the harm in allowing players to run customized leagues that have their favorite league mods. Flashback, Turmoil and Mayhem are all too short for me to get anything meaningful done before the leagues end.

In summary, I don't think I'll use private leagues in their current form. It seems really dumb to me to have to pay what is essentially a subscription fee in order to just make your game harder for yourself (and your friends). A lot of the challenging league mechanics you could just do on a regular league using the honor system with your trusted friends if you wanted to anyway.

All of this.
Mixed feelings....
wtf is that shill
