Announcing Private Leagues

And again splitting the player base in smaller batches, I dont even get it anymore.

Slow clap for Tencent's GGG.

Slow clap for people who don't realise this was a design goal from the very beginning.

I'm taking small break from PoE to play Red Dead Redemption 2, therefore, I'm slightly late to this announcement.

I honestly wonder about timing of this announcement and who actually asked for this? Sure, private leagues were part of the initial proposal GGG made years ago but I could not recall when it was seriously discussed in recent time.

I'm convinced private leagues will be content used by tiny fraction of PoE community. I wonder if it is not better to direct GGG resources to different and more desired features or improvements to PoE.

I also would be interested to know GGG's position on the fact this will fragment PoE community further. Is GGG fine with the fact there will be more fragmentation? Or is GGG expecting interest for this feature to be so small it will not have noticeable impact on overall community?

All in all, this is another way to monetize PoE for GGG. Nothing good or bad about it nor anything to be really excited about. I hope upcoming announcements will be more exciting and we will not have Diablo:Immortal situation on our hands.
Where is SOLO option? I never play or trade with others ....I cant be only one like that?

Are you telling me I have to spend about 420 points for a two month custom league by myself??? And here I thought MTX was expensive...

It will probably not be that popular, I imgine 1-2% of total players will be interested in streamer leagues or for some race events (no blue/rare drops + no stash + famine sounds like a fine SSF challenge race league)

And considering its pretty cheap, I'm assuming they got the framework done and aside from that, they won't really have to put any human resources into it afterwards outside of maybe adding more league options, but assuming it will be modular, it won't be that much of an issue.

I will probably never try this but I can see the appeal for some.
I dont see it all that negative, 98% of people stay in regular league and whoever wants to have some more fun or play with his friends in a specific league type can do so.

It's like Inception for SSF hermits. They already play alone, but now they can have their own "private" and personal Wraeclast.

But whatever if Tencent makes more $ from this more power to them. My sense is that the majority will play the regular league. There are no economical benefits so overall this won't truly affect anything. If people think there is elitism in the game, this will serve to benefit those cliques.

Congrats ahead of time to players who get to be Rank 1 in their own league! You earned and paid for it!

I can’t buy any more big supporter packs because the forum only supports showing 7 legacy tags.

Really missed the mark on this one GGG.
Been waiting for private servers since beta, and this is what you give us?

Why on earth do we need to be able to migrate our characters back to one of your standard leagues? Why handicap the customization in order to allow that?

BTW $12 for 10 days is a joke.

I don't think this is a good idea. People don't like the idea of paying for stuff and it will split the playerbase further.

A lot of players seem to want and easier game though I understand why you didn't go that route as it would mean voided leagues which will also cause possibly even more complaints. Easier leagues will also make people stop playing the normal game as it's hard to go back to less loot and xp/hr.

Instead of this there should just be more race events with crazy mods, old leagues, etc., possibly a few every day. All voided and players can choose to join as usual.
