" " " I use socket crafting to easily off-color. " I recommend starting with 2 sockets, since setting two green costs 25 chromes compared to 120 for three green sockets. It only costs 4 jewelers to go to three sockets then back to two until you hit the third green. @ vincentk:

" " " To use up four green sockets while gaining the most utility, I use the following: Whirling Blades = Travel, dodge. Smoke Mine = Gap-crosser, unlimited psuedo-Quicksilver. Cyclone = EE & Frenzy Charge generator during clear. Storm Brand = EE & Frenzy Charge generator during Blight and bosses I don't want to get close to. Nightblade is also an option. I plan to eventually incorporate a Hungry Loop Animated Guardian with Kingmaker to give me Fortify. Last edited by Hercanic on Sep 16, 2019, 7:50:14 PM

any suggestion? | |
Just stopped to thank everyone again for the great build. It has served me really well as a starter, have done up to shaper with no problems, with only 3-4 Ex invested in it.
So thanks again Herc and everyone for all the helpful information available in this thread.
" So I have some questions on this two points: First of all, I'm currently using Spectres-Spell Echo-Minion Damage-GMP-Pierce-Faster Projectiles. Not using Triad's grip. Is it worth it changing Spell Echo for Elemental Army and Pierce for Chain? Will my clearspeed suffer or improve? I do have Unending Hunger. Also, while I already went for Smoke Mine, should we just change flame dash out of the build and just always use Smoke Mine? While it might be a little worse for actually dodging (since it's not instantaneous), I think that the 30% MS justifies the change. Together with Adrenaline Quicksilver+Silver Flask+MS String of Servitude+30% MS Boots I can reach 170+% increased MS, while still having capped resistances.

" Dear Great Summoner @hercanic - What happened to summon phantasm support? Is it no longer required? - Does skitter bot+bone chill support have to be unlink with generosity+hatred. Btw what's the purpose of skitterbot? - Is buff provided by carrion golem is insignificant? Thank you !!! I have about 2 ex save up. What should I burn them on? Stampede for QOL? 6link? bone helm? Unavailable have this able to craft a 5 link or should i sell it Last edited by sengson3rd on Sep 17, 2019, 1:57:06 AM

Hohi first of all thank you for great build and discussion here its great to have necro again. I just finished story line and started mapping. Im very low at currency because of that.
My eq looks like this, damage is ok, frost sentinels spectres 1-2 shot everything but also often I got one shoted. Any way to increase mu survivability? Also Im not sure if my gems and eq are ok for using EE. Thanks for the help " Thanks for the help

" i have about 2k+ hp and 2k+ ES. with bone armor should prevent getting 1 shot most of the time XD. maybe get a discipline gem? I am mapping around T9 maps atm. So i am not sure about the damage taken at higher Tiers Last edited by sengson3rd on Sep 17, 2019, 3:16:15 AM

Hi guys,
I am hoping to get some help and guidance. (I am relatively new to POE - Started last league) I still don't really know what is good and what is not and what works and all but have a basic understanding and read this thread and many more. Absolutely loving this build and it is done well, but being new I look at the guide not knowing much and try get close to it and find those items and I get thrown off when OP is using a different build when I am still trying to understand the main one and everyone trying different stuff. So I am still trying to follow the main guide for 3.8. Please can you guys advice and give me guidance on my build so far. ONE CONCERN: So far EVERYTHING has been a breeze and super easy I am busy doing around tier 6 maps no problem. Queen of Vaal is not to difficult just need to be quicker at dodging those fire circles. (haven't gone further in maps as trying to follow quest line and trying to farm a map. Racecourse) but!!! HERE IS MY ISSUE: Tried my first tier 3 blighted map and was fun until last wave, I had towers down game got a bit laggy but managed but I just could not keep them off with towers spread and upgraded I could not keep up. and failed.. Which sucks as there is so much loot wasted.. Then learn a bit about strategies with the towers and all and I got my second blighted map a tier 6 (which I have been clearing easily) but this Blighted one just could not cope about 3/4 way through getting over run. Is there something in the build missing. I don't feel strong enough. SUMMARY Need advice and then guidance and the way forward on my build. Sorry for long post, but you guys are really helpful and I am sure you can help. https://pastebin.com/kpeDMHtu P.S I am aware of my low resistance and need to up it - I bone barrier does help with the resistance. But I am not sure where I should get more res on and what to try craft etc etc. BUILD & ITEMS Crafted my body Armour with a prophecy for 5 links and then a lucky roll. I have can craft multi mod but don't have 2 ex. Not sure what else to do to my body either or what to aim for. It seems decent. Est. Legion League Noob trying my best to learn Last edited by Insane_Goat on Sep 17, 2019, 3:57:54 AM

Hello,
newish player here - I asked this in spectre guide, but hopefully you are able to help me to :) Hello guys, first of all - great guide! Maybe someone can help me here :) I just want to start with an frost sentinel / solar guard as aoe damage dealer, zombies as tank, carrion golem as life buffer, skells as single damage dealer... Is that recommended or too many minions? I mean, I would like, if my plan only works with spectres + zombies ;-) And is it recommended to use vis mortis / bones of ullr in combination with necromantic aegis? Thanks + BRGDS PS: Is this skilltree completely working with any kind of minions?

" " Switch out Empower until you have a +1 weapon or better. +2 is subpar compared to other supports, especially when Zombies are naturally tankier now and we're no longer using the Agony Crawler (to hit breakpoints). Maim and Fortify on Skeletons were stand-ins during 3.7. Feeding Frenzy has proven itself to be very nice. Even against bosses, the Skele-Dash helps them get to and stick on their target. Mobile bosses were a huge thorn in our Skeleton DPS before, but now Skele-Dash solves this. Fortify instead of GMP with Cyclone would improve survival without losing much coverage. Just wiggle a little while traveling to spread out the Balls as needed. Their 22 unit radius is deceptively larger than their visual effect. You no longer need Unearth+GMP. That is a relic of 3.7. We can now use Desecrate. It no longer has a cooldown and creates 5 corpses for only one socket. This opens up a socket for whatever else you want, such as a curse, Consecrated Ground from Purifying Flame, or whatever you want. You could even forget linking to CWDT and put in an entirely separate skill, like Holy Relic. Try to craft yourself a Quicksilver with Adrenaline. @ nathlar: " You're welcome! @ Levirael:

" " You can try Chain instead of Pierce and see how it feels. I have not yet tested with Unending Hunger, which may push one above the other. As for Elemental Army, without Grip of the Council our Skeletons deal about 63% Physical, 27% Cold, and 10% Chaos. 10% Cold Exposure * 0.27 = 2.7% more damage for Skeletons. With Grip, the ratio shifts to 36% Cold. 10% * 0.36 = 3.6% more damage. A minor boost against bosses, like an elemental Maim, while also improving Spectre survival with max res. @ sengson3rd:

" " They're still good, but their value has been diminished by receiving twice the previous amount of Spectres for free. At endgame, I'll be going back and forth between several possible setups, Phantasms included, before coming to any official conclusions. " Bonechill has no effect on Hatred, and Generosity has no effect on Skitterbots. The sockets are only unlinked by chance. That's just how they rolled, and I didn't need to waste any more fusings for a 4L. " Most of our minions have ~1500 to over 2000 base damage. Another ~41 flat phys is a drop in the bucket. It's worth ~2.5% more damage. " We can achieve higher speed with flasks. As summoners, we don't have much demand on our flask slots, so saving them with Stampede doesn't offer us much. It also doesn't protect against Action Speed slows, so it won't be a replacement for Kaom's Roots. " I don't really recommend Siegebreaker for our build. Caustic Ground doesn't stack, so only one minion's worth of damage can be dealt to a boss. Your clear should already be fast enough that expiring minions, like Phantasms or SRS, won't matter. By the time they drop a Caustic Ground, everything around should already be dead. Phantasms being replaced by Spectre kills has potential to happen during first contact with a pack. By my estimates, that'd be around a 58k degen, or the DPS of one minion. Which doesn't stack. (Note: Phantasm level is incorrectly linked to Spectre level in PoB; it should actually be based on the level of the support gem itself, or Monster Level 70 @ Gem Level 20, and +2 ML per GL. In other words, PoB is turning them into Monster Level 83 Phantasms when Spectres are 83, which is more than twice as powerful as their actual Monster Level 70.) @ mroz3:

" " You have almost no life on your gear. Read over the FAQ on Gear Check and the Level Guide's Epilogue Gear section. They go over what you should aim for when it comes to life. In short: 2000 flat life & 200% increased life = 6000 life. You want to shoot for 6k at a minimum. Any ES you get is a bonus, but always focus on Life since it also scales Spirit Offering. You don't need Wraithlord. You don't need gloves with Poison or Bleed if you're not using the original Herald of Agony build. When we dropped HoA, we opened up our glove slot to be whatever we want. @ sengson3rd:

" " That really is way too low. 6k Life is where you want to aim. It's key to scaling up Spirit Offering. @ Insane_Goat:

" " I can't give good advice if I haven't fully tested the new stuff. =o) " Use Melee Splash on Skeletons during Blight encounters. It can provide exponential damage. I talk about this in "Trouble/crashing in Blight maps" of the mini-FAQ. I also highly recommend Feeding Frenzy over Minion Speed for Skeletons. Their Dash is just so good. You don't need Wraithlord, Bones of Ullr, or Kalisa's Grace. You'll also want an Shaper/Elder-influenced weapon that gives a lot of support affixes to your Zombies. I'd only use Empower when your weapon has at least +1. Right now, all it's giving is one level, which is worth ~10% more damage and life. Eventually, when you can get a +1 weapon and craft +2 Supports and can afford a L4 Empower, all together this will add +7 levels, which is quite a big difference and beats out any other support gem you could use. But if it's only granting one level? Other supports would be better, for the time being. @ Rashnaro:
