So I just did Shaper for the first time ever, and while I died a few times to mechanics I feel that the minions did fairly well. I do feel like I am leaving some damage on the table. Can you look at my gear/char and suggest some possible upgrades? Thank you.

I have a 47EX budget for upgrades.

Just at a glance, this is what comes to mind:

You can always work on getting quality on your gems, at least the ones that actually benefit from it. Minion Damage Support, Carrion Golem, Controlled Destruction, and Melee Physical Damage Support all gain damage with quality, and GMP and Faster Projectiles gain cast speed to indirectly increase damage. Summon Skeletons also gains damage with quality, but it's trickier to get that (if you aren't just buying it) since you need to get the quality on it before vaaling and hoping to get the vaal version. Remember that you can take a level 20 gem and vendor it with a gemcutter's prism to get a level 1 gem with 20% quality - you might put some of those gems in your weaponswap, level them to 20, vendor them, and level them up again, replacing the gems you actually use once they're at level 18-20.

For bossing, I'd definitely swap Melee Splash on your skeletons for Melee Physical Damage. Splash is more for clearing and for blight encounters & maps. Probably also want to swap your belt to something more useful for bossing.

You can always work on running lab to get useful enchants on your boots/gloves/helm. Save helm for last, since it has the most options and is hardest to get something useful on.

Quality your equipment! Some of it isn't at 20%, and there's no reason for that.

You can try to get +2 or even +3 to socketed gems on an unset ring for your holy relic; that's easier said than done though, especially since you also want other useful stats there.

You can look into replacing Brinerot Mark with a Hungry Loop, though it'll take some time to level all the support gems in it. You can level them up in your weaponswap and only put them in the Loop when they get close to 20.

It shouldn't be too difficult to get +2 to socketed minion gems in your helm, and at high ilvl you can even get +3. The ideal, of course, is a high ilvl Elder bone helm with a useful support like Minion Damage Support and +2 or +3 to socketed minion gems.

Mace means we don't get the recovery on hit the way we do with claws, though the maim on hit is nice.

Mace, shield, gloves, and boots need quality. Helm, boots, gloves need useful enchants. That is an amazing helm, btw, like woah.

Discipline ring could have +level socketed gem.

No anointment on your amulet. (Or rings, but those only matter for blight encounters; amulet matters always.)

Belt craft seems... mediocre? I'd take a hybrid +life/+something else if you can craft that (I forget if you can do that alongside +life), or +es if not.

Not sure that it's wise to have a level 20 CWDT setup; probably better off with the level 1 CWDT (level 7 desecrate level 8 spirit offering, IIRC). Dunno what GMP is doing in there, either; you can swap that for something useful, like Purifying Flame, or you can stick in a Skitterbots or the like (if you switch to level 1 cwdt, and level Skitterbots above the CWDT limit so they're cast separately). (Don't know if it's better to put Skitterbots in there or Holy Relic; you could play with that and see which benefits more from the +level in the ring.)

I don't know if Fortify is the best option for that last socket on your helm? It may well be, but you could look into that if you haven't.

Really dumb.. But how do I attached my gear and that... Be in the background reading this thread constantly and I am trying to keep up and learn but I am still new to the game and all is a bit overwhelming.. I want to post my setup currently and get advice and guidance on progressing and what to look out for or try. I love that the guide is in depth and all but still at a stage of look at guide and follow it...

You mean how do you post your gear here? Open a reply, then click your character on the top left. Make sure you have the right character selected, and then you can click an item in your inventory or equipped to add it to your post.
Any thought on using Zealots Oath , for ES Recovery and survival, specifically if most of our total life is from ES?

i have killed uber twice but ,since the screen is always clustered i can barely see,so i thought maybe i need more damage output to shorten the fight without sacrificing survival.

i mainly farm UBER ELDER then do map clearing to spawn him again and delve, but this is my first time playing summoner ,so i want to optimize survivability first, thats why i am using ES Shield and most of others since ES is cheap as well.

if you can suggest improvements for my gear,or if i am missing something wrong ,it would be appreciated.

Thanks

Well as upgrades I could see (not all “reasonable” to get, there's room to spend loads of ex here - though you mention a 47ex budget, I might as well list some high budget potential targets):
  • claw with +1 all gem and maim (and possibly also another support) and crafted with +2 support gems, while getting empower 4 - even better if you can multicraft and have the % minion damage as well - someone linked such a claw earlier in the thread, maybe in the last 15 pages I guess?
  • helmet with +3 minion level and minion damage (possibly with -% cold res to nearby)
  • boots with fortify and +1 spectre level
  • level 21 spectre
  • level 21 vaal skeletons
  • level 21 zombie
  • level 21 phantasms (1 more phantasm) though might not do that much for bossing uber elder, even though there's adds to get the spectres to spawn them
  • aul's amulet with hatred/haste so you can add haste as an aura?
  • for just more dps on bosses, you can sacrify ease of application of EE and charges by using SRS + minion damage in your CWC: for bosses it should be easy enough to hit in time to apply EE and grant charges

  • Obviously all of the above would cost a fortune, but those are imho all directions where you could look for for improvements.

If I recall correctly (maybe someone can confirm / infirm), Hungry Loop consumes the gem when you click the button to level them to max, so you could most likely level them to level 19 100% XP, then put them in your Hungry Loop to click the level up button.

For mostly boss farming you can potentially sacrifice ease of application of EE and charges in general mapping by (assuming you have some lightning damage to attacks) using desecrate + spirit offering (both maxed) in your CWC setup: that's what I've been using recently due to dying too often to my taste in frequent laggy situations, and it's done wonders in particular on Uber Elder fight, considering I recover 1400 ES every cycle which seems to be around 0.8-1s.

Not easy to get used to the effect, with the screen shaking and the *boom* noise every second when you cast spirit offering (and I feel it actually adds some lag as well ;)).

Thanks i will try the CWC with offering instead of damage taken, might keep me up well there, i will add lightning dmg somewhere :)

as for EE how long does it last to reapply it? and for gear wise, is it reasonable or needs lots of change? or just minor obvious things like 21 gems/+3 sockted and more on claw support and mastercraft?

    Thanks
