Super Slow Mo! (All content! No uniques required! Perfect for new, SSF, & challenged gamers.) (3.4)

No questions, your explanation is very clear as usual. Malachai and his cronies died almost without any resistance (granted I was at a level 47 when I came for them). I'd love to move faster, but I spend a lot of time delving (and gathering sulphite for it), so it's a snail's pace. Thankfully, the league doesn't end tomorrow. :)

Out of curiosity, how are you running 9 zombies at level 47?
Do you have a piece of gear that grants +1?

Right now at level 54 @ act 5 I'm capped at 8 zombies - but I don't have any +1 minion gear yet...

I'm not trying to usurp Algea's response but there are a few uniques that are "common"/cheap that raise your maximum zombie count. I think there are 4 uniques that can drop before level 40?

Flesh Binder in your Ascendancy will increase the count by two as well. Some people risk trying to get that second ascendancy as soon as possible.

Yep, just like triniparty has said, delving netted me this nice pair of boots: Bones of Ullr.

Templar from the Act 5 is dead as well - he couldn't do anything to me or my army. Now it's Act 5 Kitava's turn.
Out of curiosity, how do you folks normally handle resists?

I'm just now suffering my first -30 to all (after the act5 Kitava kill) and my resists are hurting. I think I might have one at 60, and two others hovering around 30. Not good.

Problem is, my socketed gear is perfect for all the skills needed in the build, but the socketed gear has very few resists. I've chanced/augmented them a bit to try and RNG myself a few extra resists - but to little gain.
I'm using the best dual- or tri- resist rings and amulets I can find, but still seem to be way short.

I'm almost tempted to start skilling into the passive tree for the three skills that grant +15% resist (frost walker, lightning walker, fire walker)? I'd have to give up some +%max life nodes over near the "Constitution" passive though. Maybe I should do that and re-spec in the future if I find better gear?

I'm wondering if there's anything else I'm missing right now though in terms of maxing out those resists. Maybe there's some basic gear opportunities i'm missing, or some crafting I haven't done yet. I don't want to trade out all my skills/sockets for resist gear though, so this is a difficult compromise to resolve.

Thanks for any advice!

On the first play through of any league, the hardest part of the game is your conundrum: picking sockets or gear with good mods. My personal preference while leveling is to pick sockets over mods. But I wouldn't do that in HC. I'm fine dying while leveling in story. That's just me though.

You may have naturally noticed while choosing sockets over mods that your belt, rings, and amulet are huge helps to resists since they can be swapped out while not affecting your links. I know that's obvious. So, in every act, the merchants that sell Gems are also the ones that sell accessories. They're good for getting belts or amulets with Str. and Dex. too. So if you don't already have great accessories, one vendor option for you is to trade in an Iron Ring and a skill gem. It'll give you a resist ring. So if you trade an Iron Ring with a red gem, you'll get Fire Resist; if you trade with a green gem, Cold Resist; and a blue gem gives Lightning Resist.

That being said, I got to endgame with -35% fire resist. I avoided fire like the plague. I just want to get to endgame and start mapping :). Dying for me is the price I pay for my impatience ;).

But on your first playthrough, especially SSF, you're at the mercy of drops and vendoring rings.

If anything else comes to mind I'll let you know.

(And just because the creator of the post responded doesn't mean others can't comment:).)

Easiest way to solve all resist problems early on is https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Aurumvorax, two of those at higher rolls can easily set you off into early mapping, and the get quite cheap after a couple of days :)
Hey, triniparty, I have a question regarding your loot filter. I'm quite enjoying it so far (I got all the correct sockets already other than the five-socket chest), and it's such a nice change not to see the loot vomit on the screen. Only after installing your filter I understood how much joy was sucked from me when I managed the loot - thanks a lot for sharing!
So the question is whether I'll notice the enhance support gem drop? I'd hate to miss it because I'm playing SSF and have no desire to trade.

On another note, I found out that at my level I can't farm Delve even at monster level 45 - I'm getting obliterated by all the ultra-sound screaming little shits - so much happening on the screen including my minions that I tend to react too slow (my cold resistance is at 64 currently). How would you say your build fares this league? I rather enjoy delving, but I had to resort to -20 levels to my level nodes. Not a problem to me because I'm not a competitive player who is not in a hurry (even though I'd love to finish 12 challenges to get that canary pet).

You will see Enhance Drop. Enhance, Empower, Enlighten, and Portal are all exceptions to the "gems must have quality to drop" rule in the filter. It can take a long time to drop though. But even without it, you'll still do lots of slowing. You just can't hit the slow cap without it. They'll show as a white triangle on the mini-map and have a white beam of light that stays on screen.

I actually find Delve really easy. Are you finding it tough on the main path while you follow the tractor thing, while exploring the dark, and/or the situations once the tractor has reached its location?
I find it all easy with the build so maybe it's just a matter of having the build level more. I don't think 64% cold would be the issue. What's your total life at?
