Super Slow Mo! (All content! No uniques required! Perfect for new, SSF, & challenged gamers.) (3.4)
Thanks a lot for the answer!
I'm currently at 1500 life, 200 ES, with 60+ Fire and Cold resists (-4 for Lightning and +3 for Chaos). I'm not brave enough to explore darkness after dying like ten times trying to find the way to one of the nodes, so I'm dying following the cart. Minions are always lagging behind trying to kill this or that mob, and calling them to me to act as a meat shield doesn't work very often or very well. |

"I always keep Charged Dash going for my sake. Do you have Minion Speed connected in your links? https://www.ForeverExiled.com/: Forever Exiled, A Path of Exile Podcast

I have all the gems linked in the defensive setup (except for that drop-only gem and 5-link chest). As of now, the 5-link chest is replaced with 3-link (blue sockets) shield that has raise zombie + minion speed + minion life support gems.
I have very low moving speed, though, and it's a problem: only +8%. Drops haven't been on my side lately (entirely my fault because I keep lagging behind). I also extensively use Charged Dash - it's the only attack I have now sans my minions, so I can even say that it's my movement skill and "go get'em" command for my pets. Add: oh, it seems like that "sound-waves" attack is actually electricity, so it's no wonder I'm being pwned. Last edited by algea1983#4382 on Sep 22, 2018, 3:22:29 PM

"With this build, our survivability is more dependent on our minions keeping up with us than having high movement speed (having high movement speed ourselves is great but only if the zombies can keep pace). You already mentioned Convocation being helpful with that. As Minion Speed levels you'll find a big improvement (quality on Raise Zombie improves movement speed too). Also, I suggest equipping the first 4 link you find, even if it's normal rarity. No matter which gem you add (melee physical, minion damage, or fortify) you'll add a good amount of damage to every zombie. Don't be discouraged. SSF is slow going. If you look at the video that I have, I've done nothing special. All my gear (except the 6 link that cost 12C) cost me 1C each. (In other words, the gear can be found easy enough over time.) It's just what the build is like with the gems at higher levels. I know I may be giving you advice you're aware of but hang in there. The reward of SSF comes in time. https://www.ForeverExiled.com/: Forever Exiled, A Path of Exile Podcast Last edited by Wrecker_of_Days#7691 on Sep 22, 2018, 3:52:54 PM

I have Tabula Rasa dropped, should I try to use that?
I'm not in a hurry, just casually keeping up with the storyline, so hopefully, better gear will drop. I'd un-privated my character tab (had no idea it was private), so maybe you can take a look if you wish so? |

"Oh sweet! If you're SSF and a Tabula Rasa dropped, I'd be tempted to make that my permanent chest piece. The only thing you'd really lose is a good health roll. But that's awesome. I'm sure you'll notice an immediate impact in your survivability. That's so great! I just saw your gear. Looks good! Nice ring. Once everything is linked right (Enhance excluded) you'll see a huge jump too. You've done really well! I like how you've gone around the tree. Also, you can do your first two ascendancies when you're comfortable with it. Getting Flesh Binder will increase survivability a lot as well with your minions clearing way faster...along with having 10+ Zombies. https://www.ForeverExiled.com/: Forever Exiled, A Path of Exile Podcast Last edited by Wrecker_of_Days#7691 on Sep 22, 2018, 5:02:06 PM

Thanks a lot for your input, that's very encouraging!
So I got my Tabula on, swapped my gems and refunded two passives (I needed more dexterity and finally the cold damage is gone from my attacks, so I picked Elemental Equilibrium). I'm not feeling well that the entire chest piece can't have any resistances anymore (and I'm down to -19 for lightning again), but well, a good offense is the best defense. Actually, most of my gear is crafted - either with essences, alchs, or coloring sockets. I think I have quite decent drops for my first time playing the game, too - the anti-freeze ring and Tabula are pretty neat. :) I rather like the main-hand weapon as well - that 1st level Abyssal cry is pretty neat. |

"You've done VERY well. Keep it up. Your rings and belt will have LOTS of resists on them coming up. And keep looking for some amulets that have high amounts of Dex and maybe strength too. Vendors restock every time you level. It's nice to rely as little as possible on the mods of socketed items. The 6 link will be the world for you. https://www.ForeverExiled.com/: Forever Exiled, A Path of Exile Podcast

So you think getting Tabula was a stroke of luck? I mean, it dropped without any grinding when my level was about 53, so it felt kind of, well, anticlimactic. Of course, six linked white sockets are great, but the lack of defense is scary. :)
I also have a prophecy on 5-link (I saved it as soon as it procced), and I thought of using that when I have a nice base. |

"Getting the Tabula as a drop is quite rare. Most people farm a specific map for hours and hours...even days to get enough of a specific divination card to trade in for one. So you got a Bones of Ullr, a Tabula, and the Jeweller's Touch prophecy in SSF? I know it might seem anti-climatic, but you're having the SSF playthrough that everyone else dreams of. That or you're lying ;). Definitely save the prophecy for when you have a base worth "150 fusings". I want your luck. https://www.ForeverExiled.com/: Forever Exiled, A Path of Exile Podcast Last edited by Wrecker_of_Days#7691 on Sep 22, 2018, 7:35:53 PM
