Defensively I am having a hard time seeing why this would be a more tanky build. Effective life vs. ES is similar. Life gain on hit + Mind of the council crits for mana is pretty similar. The Occultist/ES version lacks Acro/Phase Acro.

Is it really just that getting ES on hits (not just attacks) scales the ES THAT much better?

Kinda curious what gear is necessary to switch the build anyways, some is pricey on Delve. Indigon is cheap, not really a concern until fine tuning anyways. The Watcher's eye is 5ex ish though, seems to define the build. Presence 5ex, ele weakness gloves, 5ex...

Is it just more of a Standard league than challenge league build?

Concerning your more technical Questions:

LeechRate depends on your Max HP/ES Pool. This means that Leech inherently works kinda shitty with MoM Builds. Their 'effective' HP might be 6k or more - but Leech calculates its value base on the 4k (or whatever) Life-value they have.

ES on Hit is strong for this build, yes. Especially with Poet's Pens who fire off two (weaker) spells instead of one like the more traditional casters do, resulting in a lot of hits per second.

The difference though is that the other builds 'Life on Hit Barrage' is a clunky setup to begin with. You need to hit that barrage (which is really hard in encounters where you need to move a lot) and the barrage has a pretty substential chance to miss due to low accuracy.

We also run Arctic Armor which is huge for a Build that does not have any other sort of physical mitigation.

Acrobatics and Phase Acrobatics is a hot mess. This is at best a supplementary defense but should never be considered to work alone on its own imo. There is a reason Rangers and other builds who mostly rely on it are map-farmers.
Hi, again thanks for the nice build :), I'm trying to figure out why my damage is too different than you damage, I saw your total DPS (vortex pastebin) is more than 1M, my is around 300K , I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong :/

There is currently a bug in the latest PoB Version regarding Arcane Surge. PoB always assumes all skills (even though they outlevel it) use CWDT in the same chain - which disables Arcane Surge.
Your Damage jumps up to ~870k DPS if you disable the CWDT gem in PoB - just check it off to see your dps. I filed a Bug Report already.

I think the other 130k DPS still missing can be attributed to the missing 15% Lightning Pen on your Watchers Eye, missing Crit Multiplier on jewels etc.

In general just jewel investments and improvements. Dont rush with those, good jewels pop up fairly frequently on trade. Just be on the lookout for them while you accumulate currency. The WatchersEye with ES on hit and Pen might be expensive though.

Sorry I took a while to answer you - the Bug in PoB baffled me too for a bit ^^'.

€dit: you can also keep your Phase Run at a lower level. Its there to set off Arcane Surge. Its the one gem that makes your Dexterity requirements go above the 117 needed for SinTreks. A LV 8 Arcane Surge is as good as a LV 9 one for us - we only care about the more spell damage multiplier it offers - the castspeed it gives is irrelevant for us due to poets pens.

Question re:flask usage: Do you actually even use the flasks very often? So far, I find I haven't really needed them at all. Maybe more for end game bosses, but nothing in mapping/delving has called for more than what we put out by just spamming Frenzy...

I haven't found Voidbringers with the curse corruption and the right socket colors, so I'm using curse on hit+elemental weakness in my Frenzy chain until Vorici is L8.
