Very fun skill and nowhere near as bad as you think it'll be to watch.
I could barely sit through the entire 3 minute and 37 second video without feeling some physical discomfort so I just can't picture myself trying to play a char like that for any length of time. To each his own.
If skills had flavor text Flicker Strike's would be "Got Dramamine?". :P
Just a lowly standard player. May RNGesus be with you.

I've played with flicker strike, in combination with viper strike. I find it easier to play flicker strike than I do to watch. In fact I quite like playing flicker strike, while watching it is kind of uncomfortable. It's a rush to watch your character "flicker" all over the place.
I think the key difference is that you tend to aim the first blow before multistrike takes over and so the movements feel quite a bit less random when playing flicker strike, rather than just watching it.
Obviously, everybody's mileage may vary.
Now that prestige classes will finally leave lab in 4.0, will GGG get it right this time or will they find new ways to repeat old mistakes?
I Played flicker strike in the past. and its good and fun but... it lacks a simple mechanic change to be good. it need to namelock with multistrike and only attack that target if you aimed on a boss. several encounters are unplayable if you cant controle where your char is moving. i think i made a huge post in the feetback forum for 2.0?.
Also 6k es is just rediculess little. not HC viable at all, ci lacks atm 2k es at any levels( i tryed it abit: a occultist es fortress that use to have 22k now struggle to reach 12k, your random non es class that use to have 10-12k will sit at 6-7k with same investement. its simply to little. especialy taking into consideration that 99% of thoes previous 10-12k es builds 100% survived by old VP, the es needs a decent buffer now. the only es builds atm that is not super weak is guardian ll. reaching 11-13k on a non str/mana stacking(no watchers) build since it got tons of ele and phys mitigation and regen.
I am running an LL 7.5k ES Occultist and am UberElder viable. (And I started playing in Bestiary. No crazy Legacy Gear) Proof:
Spoiler
CI is really strong for ES Melees that use Red Trail or StatStick/eleconvert with Incandecent Heart.
Just because builds that used to work some years ago do not work anymore now (without legacy gear) is no reason to start buffing certain talents senselessly. It is a *good* thing people are forced to come up with new builds and can't run the same builds each new season for years. That the definition of stale. If you still want to run the old crazy 20kES Builds get yourself bonkers legacy gear and 'enjoy'.
Or come up with a new specc that doesnt even need crazy numbers to do the content of the game due to new mechanics/uniques.
yee shure your farming uber elder in HC with 7.5 k es. i did play occultist to this league with the same shield and incardecent heart i had 9.3k es and i would say thats the minumum for high content. Ok so that single build is viable(propperly several other occultist variants) but to say it still. very few builds can go CI and do t15 + content in HC.

Very few builds in general - also life based builds - Are viable for UberElder. Even less so in Hardcore. In fact I would recon most UberElder kills in HC are made by LL|RF builds. Which is an ES build. (Not sure if the Juggernaut Life RF version brings enough damage)
