Tencent has Invested in Grinding Gear Games

80 % of GGG it's a huge part ! But, they are also the major owner of Riot Games and LoL is still a F2P no-P2W game......

Maybe Tencent are going to help GGG to bring the cosmetic stuff to a decent cost... Like Aui said, 1 set of armor cost more than the new God of War.
Two things:

1. Obviously Chris and company wanted their payday as any startup people do so I can't blame them personally.

2. Does Tencent like Path of Royale and will they fund the server!? LOL

Okay one more thing, on a serious note.

No one invests $$$ into something and then doesn't interfere with it in some way, especially if they don't like the numbers they are seeing (slipping, not high enough, certain areas seen to not be worth the investment etc). The question isn't whether they will interfere it will be how much and where. You send financials to them, and then they look at them and then guess what happens?

Also FYI fellow players who all seem to be worried about Tencent... You realize that the leaders of GGG having now been paid out are free to retire/leave/dis-invest/walk at any time. I might be more worried about this side of the equation if I were you!

I hope it was worth it, because there's no way in hell people are going to spend that much money for overpriced MTX to some chinese megacorporation.
The amount of naive people in this thread is humongous.

I'm talking about of those who think this is a good financial move.
And I really liked those supporter packs... Can't justify paying those prices anymore after the acquisition of GGG
so do i

I a feeling this would become a thing since I saw PoE on WeGame.
I'd probably be considered a whale in terms of cosmetics and supporter packs for POE. That was 99% due to it being an Indie dev and to support a game I liked. Well I can't justify paying those prices anymore after the acquisition of GGG. Sorry GGG but you're no longer Indie and no longer the little guy showing the BigBoys how to make a good F2P. I won't be missed I'm sure, but damnit I wish I could have gotten another Drop Bear pet for Koala Day...

I never understood that Chinese gamers only want to play games that have a lot of Chinese themes in it. Look at League of Legends and Heroes of the Storm and many other games that got taken over by this cancer, they all have:
1- Chinese events
2- Chinese skins
3- Chinese bonuses
4- Chinese pets etc.
Why do Chinese people always want western games to have F****ing Chinese stuff inorder for them to bother playing? [Removed by Support]
As i heard somewhere from this Chinese company "We want to bring X game to the Chinese market" (by forcing a bunch of Chinese crap in it).

I'm so tired of seeing my favourite games or companies being bought out [Removed by Support], it's like Disney buying out everything.
And i will bet Path of Exile will be swarmed with ugly Chinese Micro's (since 99% they are messy, overcoloured and weird looking costumes).

Now i'm not racist against the Chinese, but i am however fed up with this company and the Chinese "gamers" that only play games with loads of Chinese themes.

Path of Exile is awesome, and i hope it stays like this... but it will probably go to route of: Lack of content for more Chinese stuff, lack of events unless its Chinese, money saving stuff meaning lack of content or (good) changes.

Sorry GGG, not interested in funding Tencent for a variety of reasons.

You're one of maybe three P2W I've ever funded because I knew they were a small studio I had faith in and you had good ethics for microtransactions.

Won't be paying anything else you to. Hope you survive it.

Looking forwards to the last few leagues before this turns crappy or deathspirals.

Edit: Christ, Looking at other replies looks like you just watched a big part of your funderbase shrug and leave the table.
