I also feel this way. I will continue to play, but no longer buy supporter packs

If you hate GGG and PoE so much now because they are now owned by chinese company tencent, then it is hypocritical to continue to play the game.

Pretty sure you can't read at all, I did quote how I love GGG and PoE and have enjoyed supporting them throughout, but disagree with further financial support as they've now sold.

If you buy a supporter pack with GGG now, 80% of that (not necessarily directly) goes to Tencent. It doesn't matter what you "feel", it's the fact of the 80% shareholder that matters.
This is wrong. The revenue from supporter packs and mtx goes to GGG. it pays the sssalaries, it pays the office rent, it pays the servers rent, it pays the software licenses, it pays the maintenance and replacement of hardware, it pays acquisition of new hardware and so on. What then is left over, aka earnings, this maybe goes to tencent, depending on the contracts.

You're still not getting it. If GGG earns $100k this month in PROFIT (beyond expenses), then that's $80k for Tencent. While that money isn't liquid at the moment, it eventually belongs to Tencent. Tencent will reap their profit. Did you think Tencent gave GGG those millions and millions of dollars for nothing?

I feel like this encourages me to spend no money. I love the game, but I don't really want to support Chinese companies.
As a side note I am wondering:

What this means considering our private data/information security. As clients, we agreed to terms and conditions of this game, which was 100% Nz owned and operated. With 80% of the company/game owned by another investor, our private data could be exposed to unwanted 3rd parties (hey it is changing owner so they practically own the server data as well right?), which we did not agree on.

I wonder how will GGG respond to cases like this should the case arise at a stage.

I do not like what GGG have done, but I understand why.

They will now lose money from support packs and MTX's, and when Tencent see their income go down, they will force GGG to make changes. So winter ehhh I mean changes are coming...

And as it is right now, all MTX's and support packs are VERY expensive, and GGG need to cut the prices based on how they now are doing business. Because many of the normal supporters now cannot longer justify the very high prices of packs and MTX's.

So yeah, not looking good...there will be changes comming...no later then early 2019...

Stop getting personal please, thanks. And I think it is you who needs to read more carefully. If you hate PoE and GGG now cause they were sold to a chinese company then you should also stop being hypocritical and stop playing the game. Just a little hint: If you sell something it does not cease to exists, GGG is still here, PoE is still here the guys at GGG are still here and they are still developing the game for us. And they are still depended on money coming is from mtx sales. If you do not like the game and therefore chose not to support, this is fine, but stopping support because its now a chinese company is kinda ...

You are repeating my words and contradict your earlier ones, so I assume you did not get it. Yes, parts of the earnings belong to Tencent now, but that is not really a problem. And it is not necessarily 80% it really depends on the contract between Tencent and GGG, which we do not know. Chris clearly stated that Tencent will get some extras for the Chinese market only, so it might still less then 80%. And investments into future developments are part of the companies operational expenses, and therefore lowering the earnings and ensure future development. And it is Tencent who made advanced payments and invested into GGG, they are bearing the risk now.

I strongly assume (without really knowing): GGG is still a NZ company, even if foreignly owned now, so NZ laws still apply.

Will wait to see what your next MTX is priced at. Will tell me all I need to know about the 'direction' of GGG. Hope you stay classy and not another typical mtx gauger. You can't justify the prices anymore, not without admitting what it would mean now you do have additional financial backing, jus sayin.

I don't regret any support I've given to GGG, but I do know I still speak with my money.

R.I.P TotalBiscuit, ethical gamers live on.

Whelp, I'm not going to be supporting via packs and mtx's anymore. I hope the sale was worth it, and I really hope you mean it when you say nothing will change, but history has proven otherwise in similar circumstances.
Been supporting since i started playing poe regularly. The tencent news won't affect me buying more :) Keep up the great work GGG.
