Where is the Labyrinth poll?
I don't like all content in this game either. But the reason I posted was not to be mean but to make you guys see that if GGG were to change their minds about the lab, it would not be now but back when it was new. They are proud of the lab, I think, and though I cannot speak for them, based on what they have said about it in the past, I believe they are proud of it as groundbreaking content in the genre.

" GGG really should give some better probability for getting endgame trials that you don't have yet. One time I got all six before I was ready to do uber lab. Usually though it takes much longer. Last league I had to "cheat" and use /global 820. This league I'm just playing standard to reduce this loathsome content. Regarding traps in the Izaro battle, I highly recommend getting all four darkshrines. Frequently one of those dark shrines will disable the traps in the Izaro battle. Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!

The net poll is to see what will keep current players playing this week old league. A lab poll would accomplish nothing at this point. People who say they hate it would have either quit by now or just sucked it up and play anyway.

"Things are not as binary as you're suggesting. This is especially so for things that get repeated for every new character (lab and re-running Acts 1-10) or every league (trials, masters and atlas, plus perhaps bestiary in the future). The key issue is accumulated frustration and disappointment from repeatedly running across the same disliked or hated content. It lowers engagement by leading to players making fewer characters and more quickly exiting leagues, as well as to lower overall periods of retention before a player finds other things to do. As of now GGG flies essentially blind about the effects of mechanics that get repeated every character / league on player engagement and retention. This is particularly so for lab and the Act 1-10 grind because lab is so rewarding that the fun-factor of the actual gameplay for players is hard to gauge and because for the Act 1-10 grind players have to do it no matter what. It's particularly odd that they're not more interested in knowing how players feel about lab / Acts 1-10 because these are the mechanics that get repeated most often (every character, and it doesn't get more repetitive than that). Now that prestige classes will finally leave lab in 4.0, will GGG get it right this time or will they find new ways to repeat old mistakes?

" I have not quit, and I am a new voice in this (only added in this thread) I freaking hate the lab. I hate everything about it. The Traps, the Stupid boss fights that do more damage to you then act 10 Kitava (in merciless, ubers even more retarded)depending on what "random" stupid thing spawns, how it hinders many specs and you are punished if you were playing for fun instead of minmaxing. You know why they keep increasing the rewards in there? Because more people hate it then like it. If we were not forced to do lab to get ascendancies, the lab run rate would be abysmal. Keep the lab for the people that like the place. Stop forcing us in there. Last edited by Goremise#0232 on Mar 7, 2018, 8:31:06 PM

"You are a perfect example of why a poll at this point in time accomplishes nothing. You hate the lab. You play it anyway. So what incentive does GGG have to spend any time/effort to modify the game for those who feel like you do? Guild Leader The Amazon Basin <BASIN>

" I mean, those arguments pop up every so often. But Izaro is very very very far away from dealing any meaningful damage exspecially in Normal and Cruel. And even in Merciless, he is far less dangerous than even the Act 8 boss and the predictability of his attacks is among the highest in the game. Since 3.0 I do every lab once getting access, because its actually enjoyable. They have high mob density good rewards, and with 4 Darkshrines on you, exspecially one Acceleration nothing can even touch you. In normal I had Acceleration, 50% less Trap Damage, Additional Key and something I can't even remember. In Cruel I had +1 Enchant, +1 Key, Diamond Shrine and no Traps in Aspirants Trial and both times it was a walk in the park (even though neither shrine increased the damage of my summoner). And since Izaro wasn't able to oneshot my Char in any of the regular labs, I could just potion myself whenever he did some more damage, since his adds replenish flasks quickly anyway. Of course non-armor melees likely have some more issues with him... but they have more issues with basically everything. And my Summoner is even Hybrid Life/ES, and still he has no issues at all with traps, which is mostly due to his low HP pool, thats easy to refill with a Flask... well and of course due to Bodyswap. And even if you are not exploring it, just getting through it is easy enough, I mean it is so insanely easy now, the first 2 Labs are basically free. |

"The implication that those running GGG shouldn't or don't care about how people feel when they play the game is untrue for multiple reasons. I won't bother reviewing them. You're more than intelligent enough to work them out on your own. The message to the one who made the post you just dismissed, if taken to heart, would be demoralizing. What were you trying to add (if anything) by making this kind of post? Now that prestige classes will finally leave lab in 4.0, will GGG get it right this time or will they find new ways to repeat old mistakes?

"You are at least trying to be helpful, instead of demoralizing, which is good. But, you're writing as an experienced player when you frame lab as "insanely easy." Lab and Izaro are easiest for those with extensive platform game experience and not so much for those without. Izaro is a hard fight to learn because you can't just jump right back in the fray and put what you just learned about telegraphs to use; instead you run lab all over again before you take on his crucial third phase, where most of the challenge lies. More generally, people don't have to only hate lab because they struggle with it. They can hate the aesthetics. They can hate platform games in general and be annoyed that kind of mini-game was dropped right into the middle of the character progression process in an ARPG, which is not a place you'd usually expect to see platform mini-games. So, while your response tries to deal with making the fight easier (or at least conveying the idea that it can be made easier), it really doesn't deal with the variety of reasons that are out there for hating lab. Now that prestige classes will finally leave lab in 4.0, will GGG get it right this time or will they find new ways to repeat old mistakes? "My point was it's long past the time for a poll about the lab to be useful to GGG. They spent a lot of time and money making the lab. They aren't going to spend more time and money to substantially change it now or make it irrelevant (by removing ascendencies from it) at this point. The people who quit are gone. The people who didn't can obviously live with it. They may not like it, but there are lots of different things that lots of different people don't like. If they changed everything that people said they don't like there wouldn¡t be anything left. Some hate leveling through the acts. Some hate the endgame map system. The time for a poll on the lab was long ago when they would have been worried about losing players. Guild Leader The Amazon Basin <BASIN>
