No! Capturing dead beast is stupid. This will kill all fun.
I say yes, but only if you craft them with the end game nets, so there will be some investment.
No Do not let us capture dead monsters. ...
The game has plenty of mindless clearspeed grind already, and it kinda defeats the purpose of the league, and the theme of capturing just vanishes.
What you SHOULD indeed fix, is the fact that all summoner builds, and all dot builds are at a complete disadvantage. - moreso, even crit builds, or stuff like "chance to deal double damage", "harness the void", and all "culling/slayer" - everything with unreliable damage, feels really bad to play. It feels retarded to accidentally kills the monster because it escapes, but then you are not allowed to "re-net" it before it dies because of dot/minion/cull/crit stuff. Fix please. But dont let us net dead monsters.
I would say that capturing beast is new experience for this Bestiary. But it needs little more improvement that net would not break easily (low life needs to be specified, e.g. 20% or 10%). I found a lot of failure at capturing 20% life monster.

"Restoring the three-second capture window with net" is interesting for me.

Thank you GGG for considering this problem quickly.
NO MORE NETS!!!

we got enough shit to carry around, please change it to be like 1-3 nets total instead of these tons of variations of something redundant!

Edit:
ahh... clever you GGG. Specialized net stash tab! I see where you're going with this.
Maybe soon we'll also get a stash tab only for wisdon scrolls, maybe one for transmutaion fragments as well... ? profit from purposefully added annoyance when has that ever backfired :)

While you're at it could you please add more duplicates and wider gap in weighted chance on your gambling boxes? this system feels too awesome as is!

Voting no makes the most sense because capturing something already dead makes no sense, but the current method has a high degree of failure (as well as just being a pain in the ass) depending on your build and needs to change. I don't think people are voting 'no' because they like the current mechanics and don't want anything to change. If that was true it wouldn't have prompted this debate. I think you need another option which is "No, but we have to figure out something else." The way your first option is written is basically forcing players to make the decision to do nothing because the alternative options you proposed in your poll make no sense (throwing nets on dead things).

I think you got "yes" and "no" backwards.

Any ways, the in-character explanation would be that Einhar can resurrect beasts. After all, Wraeclast is a place where the dead rise again. Seems fitting even if you don't get the relevance right now (you've been here far longer to grasp that, I'm sure!). :-)

I don't like getting more nets, but I hate the current capture process even more. As I posted a suggestion a page or so ago, I'd like to see these mechanics instead...

1.) Cast the net. The creature gains a new net-appearance skin, but they're not stunned/pinned (in-character explanation: the beast is too lively at this stage for the net to hold them down, but the net is still stuck to them).

2.) Fight the beast as you normally would. The best is not stunned, not pinned down. It goes about its normal movement.

2.) When the beast gets to a certain percentage of life (eg: 5% or whatever, depending upon culling), then stun them and make the net visible as pinning them to the ground. The capture cut-scene progresses.

But no, GGG screwed up by adding this enrage mechanics and having the beast pinned down right when you throw the net. Those sort of mechanics give a free stun skill to players.

I don't think I mixed any words here. Voting "No" makes the most sense because capturing dead things makes no sense, but if you read their description of what that poll option actually is, it says "No: In this case, we'll keep the current capture mechanics how they are." So people are voting "No" because they don't want to throw nets over dead things, and inadvertently voting to not change anything which is what the description for that option is saying - and I don't think that's what the players truly want. They want a change but one that does not involve nets over dead things.

Basically think of that first option as having some fine print. You can pick that option but it comes with some terms and conditions. In this case it's GGG not doing a damn thing if you pick that first option.

GGG, my proposal...

1.) Cast the net. Level appropriate net. The creature gains a new net-appearance skin, but they're not stunned/pinned (in-character explanation: the beast is too lively at this stage for the net to hold them down, but the net is still stuck to them). This is the only new content GGG needs to create.

2.) Fight the beast as you normally would. The best is not stunned, not pinned down. It goes about its normal movement.

3.) Capture when on low-life. When the beast gets to a certain percentage of life (eg: 5% or whatever), then stun them and make the net visible as pinning them to the ground. The capture cut-scene progresses.

  • This eliminates using nets as a stun mechanic, which stops that sort of abuse.
  • This doesn't allow dead beasts to be captured, which solves the complaints about capturing dead beasts.
  • This also stops the clearspeed people from just plowing through content without thought if they want to capture beasts, since they have to think before they kill.
  • This also retains some challenge in picking out the desired target from a crowd, and throwing the net on the right target before killing it.
  • Gets rid of the whole enrage crap, lost nets, desync of net throws, and many other complaints.
  • We can save the too-many net types for another argument.

So, GGG, why can't we have something like this? Keep the mechanics simple, clean, and flow well with existing gameplay. It should also please more people than nets for dead beasts ever can.

Even voted for to have Net but being pretty rare, thinking better now i would prefer that the tier 10 net gives 4 sec to capture and being instant cast.

Edit: The cipher_nemo argument is pretty neat, probably will work better than my proposal

its totally going to loos the vote but yes you should be able to catch dead beasts but only if you have out lvl'ed the zone by lets say 10 lvl's. i play burning specters and if i am not fast i cant catch any of the rare spiders or rhoa's. 3 seconds makes no difference if by the time i cast my net its dead
I don't think you should. It would like of remove the point of the league
