You mean when you leash the monster it heals to 100% and gains those affixes, right? Cause only working on beasts that are on FULL health seems like an even worse idea than the current one, lol.
the chances of killing the beast before you can throw a net is much higher than capturing it tbh. poor crit builds. the only thing that i could think of is we can catch dead beast but make it more difficult to defeat them in the blood altar than capturing it alive

Feels like the dead catching thing was a rushed decision as it was set it stone to capture them alive. Don't do the second thing. Do the first thing.
please don't let people capture dead, ruins the point of the mechanic

You know what? I am glad that we are complaining about league stuff. It is so intoxicating that we are getting tons of new content and are able to succsessfully complain that it is just a bit not perfect. It is nice that we are not in a constant dead state of Dikcablo 3, we are not finding ourself in some piles of crappy lies like Destiny 2 players are thrown in by Bungees and etc. When I ll create my own project, I hope my customers will have the same level of complains as we are having here right now!

At least make the beast get an extra buff (zombie mode) with extra damage & health when you face it in blood altar arena. That would be interesting.

I was jumping on to post how f***ing brilliant the new Bestiary mechanics are, and I see Chris' post about nerfing the capture modes. Crap!

The capture-but-don't-kill mechanic forces a player to change her whole game-playing approach. Screen-wide mega-clear death builds don't work, and that's great. This new mechanic rewards patience, tactics, and finesse. And it gives those of us without the time, resources, and build skills to craft a Lich one-shot char a chance at crafting goodness.

I started with a Frostblade Bleed Duelist. After I quick-killed a bunch of beasts, I added a Decoy Totem plus Dual Strike. This latter combo gives me a targeted culling ability so I can pick off the ankle biters and leave the big one alive, then whittle down the big one until I can capture.

I had to add a combo I wouldn't normally use just to fit the game's new mechanic, and it's fun to switch in the targeting skill, make the capture, then switch back and smash the map boss.

I've seen the posts about how this mechanic sux and breaks the game and I'm gonna quit and waaaa. This mechanic makes you think and tool your build and use your noodle, and if you do, you get some good rewards.

Chris, it's your game and if you want to add death-capture, then I guess you will. But death-capture breaks the whole spirit of Bestiary and ruins the mechanic that makes it so brilliant.

Another post compared Bestiary to Vorici's missions, and that is spot-on. That's why it takes a different mind-set to run Vorici's missions, and why I enjoy them so much.

Chris, please reconsider your intention to add death-capture.
I got frustrated when I slotted mirage archer while leveling, and it killed a rare I was trying to capture. I'm really glad I didn't pick summoner, mines or totems (or slayer, with cull) as my league starter.

I actually really like that this league is slowing us down. It's rejuvenated the leveling process for me. Hopefully some tweaks to the capturing process will make it feel a lot better.
Go back to the 3 second time window and let us play that way for a few days and see if/who still has major issues with it apart from some people not liking the whole capture to craft mechanic at all anyway.
