PoE races are not ethical
"Encourage" is a very vague term that could be interpreted in many ways at varying magnitudes. And your whole argument is sitting on it. Concern trolling. All that this is.

OP - I don't think that word means what you think it means.

Lets all just take turns winning! This is the best idea, don't argue because I am a genius. My mommy said so.

“Skilled” is very subjective, especially in a game where RNG is a factor.
One could argue the person who won within the rules of any given contest is the most skilled. In a 400M race, only one bing matters....the person to cross the finish line first without cheating. No one cares who led the first 350 meters, who took the least steps, just who finished first. |

I dont see any any key!

Stop trying to control people. If they want to play video games 16 hours a day good for them less traffic for me on the freeway!

People need to realize that there's a reason that they have courses, and yes even entire degrees conferred, in Ethics.
Listening to a bunch of amateurs discuss this like they know what they're talking about is like going to a Flat Earth convention to learn about physics. You all have no idea how silly you sound. |

" Exactly. Last time I checked, the general consensus among health professionals was that an average person needs about 7-8 hours of sleep a day (please correct me if my numbers are wrong or outdated). So playing 16 hours a day is perfectly fine if you have nothing else to do, it's your life, and your lifestyle. The problem is when people start pushing it all the way to 24 hours. Then it's no longer a lifestyle, but a health hazard. Fuck master rotas. Fuck any kind of rotas, for that matter.

I think ethics have nothing to do with this matter.
BUT I think that PoE races in their current form are not very fair and award relentless gameplay too much compared to efficient gameplay. There should be a secondary ladder that tracks progression done at, let's say, the 30th hour of race (for a 10 days race). These 30 hours could be played in a single or multiple sessions... doesn't matter. In this way everyone would be able to compete for the top, even if just for this secondary ladder.
