PoE races are not ethical
Because people play insane amount of hours to reach their top100.
Example ranked #2 player played 100 hours but #1 player 130 hours. Ethically #2 player should be ahead. But it's not just unethical from competive perspective but for PoE as developers too. You actually encourage some people go with their addictive sleep deprivation and people have actually died from it. They sit all day drinking their coffeine just to stay awake and then pay price for it with their health. If you want to make it truly competive then you need put timers how much people are logged inside current ladder and put that into equation. Edit: After reading some replies people are missing one point. I specifically wrote this: "put that into equation." This means that you can enjoy your freedom to play as much as you want. But this also means that you get bonus based on how much is your total hours spent in any current ladder to get max lvl. You can compensate it by adding another race so 24/7 players have time to play both. Person who is most skilled deserves to win. Just staying awake has NOTHING to do with gameplay skill. Player who spent more time to get #1 is not as impressive as player who spent less time to get #1. Last edited by Goredeath#7093 on Nov 30, 2017, 7:42:51 AM Last bumped on Nov 30, 2017, 2:08:44 PM

" When they put up races it "encourages" to this behaviour. I don't want this thread into flame war though so please don't be butthurt fanboys and just implement timer. It's not hard. Timer actually makes game more competive. Last edited by Goredeath#7093 on Nov 29, 2017, 7:04:50 AM

SHUT! DOWN! EVERYTHING!

Yes why not extend this idea to olympics, whenever an athlete needs to sleep im middle of a run others take penalty.

Just because you don't like something, doesn't make it unethical. You have to demonstrate that someone is injured by their actions and that someone gains from that injury. Stories of a few people injuring themselves don't cut it. They would have done the same regardless as to GGG's choices. Also, GGG has gained nothing from any hypothetical injuries that might have occurred.

" 40 hour marathon runs? Sounds fun. |

" 1+1=2 is not "my opinion" because it's fact. Do I need to prove to you that sleep deprevation is unhealthy? Also google word "encourage" so you understand better definition of it. Everything rest you wrote was pointless. Just because accidents haven't happened in this game doesn't mean there is no potential for it. And I don't even care about GGG part of this even though they're at foult. Another problem is that it's not competive if it's not equal playfield. Timer would just fix everything. You can still play 60 hour straight but that doesn't necessary mean that you win race because someone who is faster than you per hour = more skilled and deserved that win.
