ummm righteous fire pohx build... he just face tanks shit... how is that not lazy...

ranged or casters should never be able to use fortify

RF is an aura since you only cast it once and it doesnt leech, you just run regen. Yes pohx build is lazy. Also yes, ranged or casters should not have fortify unless they roll a champion for some reason.

very true good sir!

Thanks for agreeing they should really address this fortify only being usable for melee or champions.

It's not about power or end game viability, at least for me.

Yes some cool and workable melee skill exist, but this doesn't mean they shouldn't be working on expanding/rereshing melee.
Ranged is overall a better and more varied choice, who can argue with that? But still they get more updates/QoL etc.

In 2.6 there were some major melee weapons updates, good, we recently got treshold jewels for many skills, we are getting a new melee support in 3.1, cool, I'll take and experiment with that.

But still I can't deny some disappointment to see how much more attention and focus raged gets over time.

Fair enough. You could also argue that ranged (or at least ranged attack) has more modifiers based on distance, more projectiles, more aoe if skill is aoe, knockback as a mechanic that is useful (lul at heavy strike without crab mace or empires grasp) and stuff like, chain, pierce, fork etc. Melee does lack such options you could choose to add unless it's already part of the skill itself, which might limit it's diversity in uses.

How about more melee movement skills (or changes to excisting ones) that make them more interesting/useful as clearing skills? Leap slam is meh cause its so slow and has inpractical knockback. whirling blades feels clunky to me same as the newer charged dash. and then there is just the shield charged meta for every build that wants fortify.
I wasn't expecting storm barrier to have a cool bubble effect, very nice.

It will go with my storm burst bubbles of doom nicely.
Can someone confirm or deny, that spell cascade can support skills, that are being triggered?

'pretty good' - how many of that 40/40 you achieved using these compared to ranged/meta skills?
i am judging by share amount of melee builds and what they achieved, i did 40 challenges in 2,5 weeks of league mostly by running uberlab on blade vortex character(might aswell have chosen sunder DW slayer, but i don't like leap slam and +500 ms just seem better). To me no skill can beat obliteration wands +hidden potential in clearspeed with right setup. You can check out my tea_bagger, character has clearspeed of a wander(just realised that technically he is a wander too, just without KB, lul), while being really wierd bullshit build(DP RF kappa). I actually lvled him to 73 using sunder and cyclone and can't say that was boring.

Storm barrier with Blade flurry setup

Abyssus
Lightning coil
Arctic armour

It sounds good?
No physical gems?
Not to be an insufferable optimist here but maybe they left out the melee support because they have a big melee announcement coming tomorrow.

Anyway.

Siege Ballista and Volley for that extra thick WOOOMP!
Unearth + Bodyswap for the one button meta.
Spell Cascade and Bladefall/Firestorm/Icestorm to fuck this place in particular.
Spell Cascade in both Desecrate and Volatile Dead with the new Blob Warfare meta to lure EVE Online players into PoE.
Cremation with CoH or Chance to Ignite could make a good fire based support skill like Frost Bomb or Orb of Storms, though the corpse requirement limits it to clearing more than boss fights where you'd need the support most.
