Weekly Beta Report Six
Herein lies the problem with an RPG game without a difficulty setting. Some players think that obliterating enemies and being super overpowered is fun. Other players think that you have to struggle and die often for things to be fun.
When the game has to be balanced for both player groups, one side inevitably feels disgruntle. You either have people complaining that things are too easy, or like the vocal opinion recently, people complaining that things are being nerfed too hard. It doesn't help that the complexity of POE means there is huge disparity in skill between casual and professional/long-time players. Something that is too easy for a professional is often still too hard for the average casual and things that are hard for the professional are basically unplayable for casual players. I'm personally in the obliterate everything camp and I feel like buffing stuff instead of nerfing stuff is the way to go. A global nerf policy seems like a cop out to me, like the developers aren't comfortable with their ability to create new challenging content so they need to make existing content harder. I realize that GGG has been doling out both buffs and nerfs in an attempt to balance gameplay, but every time I hear the dev team say "players are able to do too much damage", "players are trivializing content", etc. I cringe a little and die a little inside. |

" So you wish that GGG stop maintains their game and let the new meta-builds, which exploit synergy not foreseen by GGG, kill it? If you don't like PoE, just stop coming here, go away. If you want to play a game without challenge, go D3 even. But don't plainly ask to kill the game we love, f*****. Last edited by bejarid#1734 on Jul 19, 2017, 4:02:00 AM

More poison nerfs? You can't be fucking serious
The only way you can achieve millions of dps is viper strike and vaal pact So instead of reworking viper strike, you nerf poison for the 10th time in 3 weeks which negatively impacts every single other poison build. No other poison build was getting over 1m dps. And the only reason it didnt sacrifice survivability was because vaal pact is still in the game. Fucking remove vaal pact and stop nerfing shit so you can balance the game around that. Vaal pact has killed so many good setups because it is simply too strong. Remove it and stop killing builds. Show me a non viper striker poison build that gets 1m dps. Also important to note that viper strikers needed to stand still for 40seconds+ to get that dps level. Average dps would have been 300k ish because you still need to dodge shit, the mob moves away etc. And that dps would include wither totem, take out wither totem because it died, or the boss moved out of the area and you are now under 200k dps Is 200k dps too much for you? Seriously hope this isn't another nerf, but instead a direct nerf to viper strike and buffs to everything else poison wise Last edited by MyNameIsSalo#5971 on Jul 19, 2017, 4:11:50 AM

" DoT was never meant to deal millions of damage every second! Its not intended! DoT = Damage over Time. What is it doing any good for if it does damage not over like 5 or 10 seconds rather than 1 or 2? |

I play a lot of time only in HC beta. In my humble opinion: Remove the vaal pact and stop skills nerf.
● Tristram Guitar DI http://tinyurl.com/mpnhsep (I am HC DI,II player since 1996)
● DII intro http://tinyurl.com/kpvzr8u ● Zana's story is the best of story from all ARPG ● Nerf do a fun PoE. That's challenge to build a new Phoenix and be HC ● I have no time to be slow in HC. It's not ARPG/fun |

" Is this in 3.0? how can you scale POISON damage AND at same time have decent HIT damage to leech all received damage with Vaal Pact? Because Deadly Ailments Support which boost POISON damage, makes you LESS damage from HITS! Where did you get so many passive point for LIFE nodes, ATTACK DAMAGE nodes, POISON/CHAOS nodes? Even with Added Chaos Damage gem most new support gems boost POISON damage in exchange to Hit damage! Last edited by CBEToffOP#6515 on Jul 19, 2017, 4:30:00 AM

" No sir id you dont like POE then go play D3. The only reason there trying to nerf everything into the ground because elitist like you dont understand that if you put 1000 hours into the game low and behold youre strong. Dont you sit here and lie to yourself like these nerfs are maintaining there game. Its not ine fuxking nerf! Its the collective if all the nerfs and buffs to boss life at the same fucking time. People like you are killing our game with your complains. |

" What is this nonsense? Bleed is absolute garbage as of right now in 3.0. Poison is almost dead. For some reason you can stack poisons but not bleeds which is completely backwards as well. There is also no publicly known instance of either being anything but a nuisance in the current state of the beta. So, where does those "millions of damage a second" coming from, if even when going full glass cannon on it's still an absolute trash? Or you guys are playing different version of the beta than we do? I really like the changes to labyrinth.
But if you are intending to tamper with maps in respect of their attractiveness to use shaper orbs on them you should give us some free respecs. |

" Why are you making further nerfs to poison? Seriously who the hell is still doing "poison damage in the millions" at this stage? Removing of double dips was fine and dandy, but nerfing poison chance equally hard across the board was a wrong move, it made some items rather useless. And now you want to nerf poison again? I haven't even started on bleed. I've rarely, if ever seen a bleed build in 2.6, and now you're going to nerf that too. And buff the bosses. WTF is going on?
