Sao Paulo Server latency
" I live in Brazil. Honestly? GGG should just give up on hosting a server here. Our infrastructure is simply too bad to work properly. Considering the nightmare that our ISPs are, I'm far from being surprised by all the trouble GGG is having. It was a valiant attempt. But really, enough is enough. GGG can't fix this because it's out of their hands. They could try changing partners in Brazil, but all options simply suck. The country is not going to improve any time soon, if anything things will get worse before they begin to improve. Just kill the realm. |
|
" Somehow all other games that offer servers in Brasil manages to provide a good service, even Diablo 3, but i am sure the only reason in this case is because our infrastructure is bad. |

ETA? 3 Days off already, one day without news...

Fitzy will solve this guys... its just a routing issue. Maybe GGG will develop an automated process to estabilish the best possible connection to the other gateways (tunnel) dynamically.

No point in having fiber optics then. Even if they were re-routing it to USA gateways I'd have a better ping, but it's going tru EU servers, FML. *cries in german* 50km/134ms. 2 continents/133ms |
|
" We're currently doing what you are describing. | |
" So....for how long we should play with 150MS? almost 100 pages and nothing was solved, this is hilarious |

Is it possible to make a copy of this sticky in the spanish technical support forums???
Most ppl using Sao Paulo speak only spanish. Thanks. Problemas Conocidos / Preguntas Frecuentes - ¡Por favor lee antes de publicar! I post here every 3 months. Theres been a problem with br server for more than a year, I just dont think this is a high priority issue for them.
If ANY US/EU gateway went down you bet Chris wouldve responded on it and made sure it was fixed the same day. I dont buy that "brazils fault" at all, as others pointed out games like D3/Warframe/etc thats similar do PoE has never had any issue of this magnitude. To think we have dogshit servers for 2 weeks straight on a league launch and the whole second weekend with servers completely off, absolutely ridiculous. " They probably cant fix it right now. Didn't you read? It has to be done by a third party team, here in Brazil. GGG can't do anything else on its own, they just can demand a team to fix the problem, like we demanding things to GGG. it was a holiday Friday in Brazil, then comes Saturday... you know what happens, then lot of people doesn't go to work on Saturday, whatever, we all know that a Brazilian third party team wouldn't really fix anything hard on Saturday after a Holiday. Then it is Sunday, nobody is working there... I guess tomorrow (Monday) they would resume to work on it, and finally fix this. But the most important thing about it is not the short term problems and measures in order to solve it. I can live just fine with a couple of days playing in a shitty server (or not playing at all). They will "fix" it eventually. What really troubles me is that this problems have been happening intermittently since a long time, mainly in the first weeks in each league. And nothing has been done in the long term point of view. They have to make a harsh decision sooner or later, and it could be just shut down the Sao Paulo GW and switch the server to a better place, or (as I suggested before) opened a new one in another Brazilian State or even another country (like Chile or Argentina). Because it is clear to me, for whatever reason it may be, the current server can't handle it anymore, something is really wrong with it... Last edited by DEvil27#6183 on Sep 9, 2018, 11:03:45 PM
