If you haven't done so already, I'd suggest posting in the Tech Support thread, with full system details, a dxdiag and any relevant windows event log information. Possibly an mtr created whilst actually playing as well.

I doubt this will help but it's worth going through the motions, something might pop out.
Meh, the Offering keys + one attempt at completion per key is in a very sad state as soon as PoE has stability issues, and although on Normal/Cruel/Merciless the disconnection could be tolerated easier, the Uber Lab pisses off anyone that get's to experience those errors.

Having a taste at a Hardcore experience on Standard is fine and dandy, but to have it on the most lenghty sequence of the game that has to be played continously on an online only game is ASININE when your game isn't a paragon of stability and reliability.

Unfortunately, I just feel that "Labyrinth" has too much wasted potential in the current state of affairs...
PSS: Our almighty TencentGGG overlords are very scrupulous regarding criticizing their abilities to take proper decisions and consider everything "needlessly harsh and condescending"...

Good to know "free speech" doesn't apply in any form or manner on the forums these days...

Just by peeking the OP, old wounds have opened and now they bleed.

Before every (forced) LAB run, I put a glass exactly half full of water in front of me. And every time the game crashes before third trial, I calmly pour it over my head, thinking about how lucky am I to get pissed by this and not by fears about what am I going to eat or where am I going to sleep. Works most of the time.
I like lab but +1 to this thread.

Lab is THE most crashing content this game has. I regularly get client crashes and dcs there, which almost never happens in maps.

And it is the only content that punishes me for crashing. I can return to map in case of dc/crash but can't return to lab to a checkpoint or whatever.

And it has checkpoint areas! There is safe zone right at the begining and before every trial. Why can't I respawn there if client crashed?

Definitely this. As stated in other threads as well. Problem with lab is the instability of the game. The system simply does not work. If the game was 100% stable, this could have worked. Even though we that live far from servers would still have the 200ms latency to contend with, but at least with timing and skill that can be overcome...., but we can't do shit about the client crashes and server disconnects.

Next league GGG should just make Lab optional as a trail and give ascendancy points at certain act boss fight completions. Then they can simply see how many and how diverse a number of people continue to do the labs. Some love them, some farm them, others hate them.

My guess is that the lab runs would drop significantly. The point of the game is enjoyment and if that means farming maps or whatever instead of doing lab than way force people into content they do not enjoy? What is the point?

I expect we'll see checkpoints before long. Any real challenge of a one-shot run of a labyrinth goes out the window the moment a site detailing all of the day's areas is updated.


Actually if you just want to get through you don't need any hints unless you are doing one of your first runs and don't know the areas that well. THe biggest reason at least for me to look at those sites is to know when not to try the lab. The worst thing I had early with the lab was that you might run into one of the Izaro mechanics you simply cannot do at this point and you essentially wasted time. Knowing the mechanics beforehand removes this frustration and you basically go in when there are Gargoyles + Portal which can be tough if left alive but are easy to defuse.

That's pretty poor logic. Remove the reward from any optional content and see who still does it.


I'm not so certain it's poor logic.

After GGG removed the large chest from the catacombs, I continued to use it as a place to farm levels, because I enjoyed it even without the potential chest spawn.

I stopped going in it at all after one of the trials was inserted.
Do you think I might be the only weirdo out here in Wraeclast? :)

I'll admit to never having been much of a thicketer. Although, occasionally I'd check for the chest. But that changed too after they nerfed it and subsequently removed them all. :(

As a firm casual, I liked the free loot. Dang bots and bot-alikes spoil all the fun.
