Also need help from someone who like calculations. So i was testing in Path of Building and notice that best damage is when i have 9 Primodial Harmony and others are Primodial Eminence. If i put 10-th harmony damage goes down, was trying on all 20% damage harmony vs 20% attack speed and cast speed eminences. Have no idea if it's correct ...

Dont use path of building for this build it does not work.
Damage is not everything.
You have to find the balance between defence and damage.
Best way to do try it and have experience ingame.

Well since that guy has already done lightning, I'm gonna do something else. Either 4 or 5 different golem set up.

The essence crafting give you the option of having a pseudo 5.x link on the helmet. For example; "more elemental damage" or "50% ignite chance". And if you're lucky also get +2 to minion gem, that's where the ".x" comes from. And that frees up your 6-link chest or it means you don't need a 5L or 6L.

Been using this helmet since 89 and I'm almost 90. Got lucky halfway and corrupted to 21 on FG but it was doing fine at 19. (3 flame, 1 chaos, 1 stone from weapon)


Chaos golem on gloves with "30% more dot damage".


Not sure what links on the body yet, if I use all 3 elemental golem I can't use EE. And I got to thinking how to boost the helmets.. looking at other ascendance, Hierophant for that elemental penetration and more aoe on gloves. Basically making them a 6.x link.

Anyways, this build has become too different from the OP so I'll stop talking about it. I just wanted to inform other players about other options. But yeah, I'll be doing a Hierophant next after this.

Well all lightning golems seems cool but lightning golem is 2nd least tanky golem if i am not wrong.
Also lightning golem aura gives your character + lightning damage to spells and attacks so whenever you try to proc ee it also procs lightning resist on monsters if the aura is on the ground.
No golem can match the tankyness of flame golems but you are free to try and i ll wait for ur feedback :)
Oh and damage over time is kinda useless w/o taking ignite nodes, i suppose someone mentioned it before that it was not that afficient with just golem tree. But again you can try it with that essences it might turn out good ^^

Even with ignite/burning damage/DoT passives we cannot increase the burning damage from ignites caused by golems. For the same reason we do not take increases in spell/fire/elemental damage in the tree... they have no effect on golems. The golems are not you!

Monsters can have only one active ignite instance at any given time. The burning damage is calculated as 20% of the initial hit over 4 seconds.

There are only two ways to further increase the burning damage from ignites by golems: link Increased Burning Damage Support to Summon Flame Golem and/or curse enemies with Vulnerability.

All the minion damage nodes will increase the burning damage of your golems as well. Ofc your right in general and im not sure why mrsDeath keeps talking about global mods affecting golems.

It shoudl increase golem spells but not base damage of golems right? That how i understood that
Anything thats linked to the flame golem gem will boost its damage. So yes quality on spell echo, fire pen or controlled destruction will boost the golems damage. Also anything that says socketed gems will apply so free nova gmp from sire of shards or a +1 gems skin of the loyal will affect them.

Sure, it's why I said, "further increase", i.e. on top of all the minion-related damage increases we already have from tree, jewels, gear. ;)

Right, and this is to prove what exactly?

For example: I link a 20/20 Added Cold Damage Support gem to my Flame Golems so the tooltip does show some DPS for the golems (by default it doesn't show DPS).



Now, guess what happens if I equip this spell damage amulet:



Surprise, surprise...



Or this elemental damage sceptre:





Or this cast speed ring:





All three rubbish items together will push the tooltip DPS from 680 to 909, a whopping 33% moar damage. Now imagine a b@d@$$ amulet and two essence-crafted Opal rings... the tooltip DPS will go through the roof, man. :D

Isn't that proof enough that we should invest heavily in cast speed and spell/elemental damage in the tree and on our gear to boost our golem damage since all of these do affect the golem tooltip DPS? LOL
