Both of them are fine to craft. I think the Eye Gouger might win out slightly due to its base crit being 0.30% higher than the Imperial Claw. Rough calculations with both claws having an Increased Critical Chance Affix of around 35%:

1. Eye Gouger -> 6.30% x 1.35 = 8.5
2. Imperial Claw -> 6.00 x 1.35 -> 8.1

So let's say that you have a total of about 400% Increased Critical Strikes from tree and gear (example), which means that you get these calculations:

1. 8.50 + (8.50 x 4.00) = 42.5% chance to crit
2. 8.1+ (8.1 x 4.00) = 40.5% chance to crit

So the Eye Gouger will have higher crit than the Imperial Claw. It also has a slightly higher base damage of 26-68 compared to the Imperial Claw, which is 25-65. So, from a pure min-max perspective the Eye Gouger wins out (the Imperial does have a slightly higher base speed, but might not be enough for some to justify using it over the EG) but both will work.

Also to note that the Gemini Claw also has a base 6.30% chance to crit and a base damage range of 23-68, so don't overlook that either. Plus, it does give some mana gained on hit as well, which means that it can help in No Regen maps a bit more than the others. So, again, Eye Gouger is technically the best of the bunch, but Imperial and Gemini Claws are more than worthy contenders.

I used this build before switching to CI. It's dirt cheap (under 100c?) and its damage is equal to or higher than Invalesco's build.

Drawback is the ~5k life pool.

Just FYI that build is doing nowhere near as much damage as Invalesco's build, I'd say it does even as little as a quarter of the damage. I mean just look at the shaper video posted in that guide USING ABYSSUS and see how slow it is compared to Invalesco's kills.

Now as a budget build I'm sure it's fine, but comparing its DPS to Invalesco's build is a pretty precarious claim.

At the gear level I was at (using 2 touch of anguish) it is more damage. Guess I should have clarified that.

How did you get to 100?

Without prolif or screenwide one shot AOE I can't seem to find a way to do decent xp. Took me maybe 10h to do 95-96.

Frostblades has nice AOE but you still never hit more than 8 mobs, even if you put shitload of packsize + sextants.

Probably rainbow - simply b/c you don't have to make up for resists on your other gear.

I think it's too early to tell even with what information we have. Life-based could certainly be a way to go and I think there's a life-based build up on the forums here. Could use that as a base and tweak it for Claw & Shield instead of dual-wielding.
