[2.6] CI FrostBlades Raider/Pathfinder [Permafreeze T15 bosses, 4:17 Shaper Run, 1:49 Chayula timer]
" What process did you use to craft your claw? (I'm newer to crafting end game gear like that) |

Best Claw base to craft from? I assume Eye Gouger but maybe Imperial or Great White are better? Has anyone done the math?
|

Safe to assume that a Gemini Claw with +life&mana on hit would be better to run than the 2% Physical Leech one since we dont do any physical damage ?

" Eye Gouger because we want the crit it provides. " I'm currently level 96 as a Pathfinder in LHC doing this build, it's pretty safe. I'd go Pathfinder because it naturally scales the defenses we get from flasks, including Wise Oak reduced damage and Taste of Hate phys conversion and max res. You also get reduced ele damage from Pathfinder ascendancy, I'd rather have that than the tiny amount of dodge and spell dodge you get from Raider. However I should add the disclaimer that I have yet to attempt Guardians/Shaper with this build, just farming red maps up to T15 at this point. But I don't think my defenses are the issue, I want my DPS to be high enough to kill them in a maximum of two flask rotations like Invalesco. But I'm fine with that because I didn't build this character with the intention of farming bosses with it. |

"And not Great White b/c of Attack Speed? |

" Wow, goodness... Yeah they're really skyrocketing in price. To think mine cost less than 5ex. I would just try and Vaal for sure. Ele weakness on hit is more of a QOL/min-maxing upgrade rather than a necessity. You may also like PJ (above) end up vaaling other useful stuff than u can use/sell. Iirc that trick only works on divination cards because the item level u get from the div card is based on ur char level. Shapers touch gloves are also si level 86 coz they come only from shaper, so it wouldn't matter. " I would go pathfinder because the defensive bonuses u get from the defensive flasks will also be increased. " I would go for eye gouger seeing as we're primarily stacking crit mult: that extra 0.3% base crit chance on an eye gouger is better than the extra 0.1 APS on an imperial claw. Of course, it also depends on the amount of crit multi you have. If you have low crit multi, imperial claw will be better. If you have high crit multi (which you will have, eventually anyway), that's where eye gouger wins out. As for the exact amount of crit multi u have to have for eye gouger to win out, that level will also depend on the amount of flat added phys you have on ur gear, so it varies from char to char. " Yup, although technically speaking we alr have 0.8% mana leech, so we don't even need mana on hit as well and can just go for the best dps claw, which in this case would be mostly eye gouger, although imperial would also be a close second. Edit: wow, I like the chain of replies that just happened. Thanks for the help guys! Thanks!
Also I was wondering, for pathfinder any reason to NOT take the poison node over Nature adrenaline? I mean it sound much more stronger than getting an extra 20% attack speed (the equivalent of one jewel and the movement speed doesnt really matter with whirlwind blade) on a build that already attack at the speed of light. Does it interfere with other mechanics im not seeing? Last edited by akuryo#0061 on Apr 17, 2017, 9:51:38 PM

We don't have that much chaos damage and almost no sources of double dipping damage, it would only lower our DPS while making our clear worse.

"Literally zero phys/chaos damage. |

I have been using both Whirling Blades and Shield Charge recently, mostly because I am still debating which one I like best. I know that Shield Charge is probably the faster movement skill but there's something about it that I just do not like. I don't know whether it's because it doesn't feel as controllable as Whirling Blades, or if because it just feels like I slam into wall/door corners way too much and get stuck on seemingly more things. However, it just doesn't feel as good to me and I still find myself gravitating towards WB.
I've also been trying another setup with Whirling Blades and doing this: WB -> Curse on Hit -> Enfeeble -> Fortify Providing two layers of defense at once while keeping nice mobility at the same time. True, I do lose out on Faster Attacks, but I feel like it might be worth the drop in speed. Plus, I'm not trying to go as fast as possible and clear maps at lightning speed, so that is also why I'm leaning towards that setup. Not only that, but if I run that, then I free up my claw gems slots for: Increased Duration -> Vaal Haste -> Vaal Grace Offense and Defense all in one there. Still setting it up and experimenting with it though so I'll update now and then with how it feels. |
