Path of Exile is Coming to Xbox One!

And I thought my hopes couldnt get any lower.

i believe this was a good move, probably cost a lot tho... hope it pays of and it offers thousands of player the opportunity to play one of the greatest free to play games on another popular console...
i wonder if i should ask my dad if he wants to test it when it comes out, lol

could this also mean controller compatibility on PC? support of the steam controller or any sort PC controller because that would be awesome for those who don't actually have an Xbox one but still want that 'console' experience.

Aww babyboy you are completely right.. we are in no position to be upset about GGG spending our money on something completely irrelevant for us. Seriously this announcement would be less outrageous if it was about Chris saying sorry for the terrible optimization for AMD hardware, saying they don't have the money to do that, because he spent all of it on his new yacht

Because once the console version booms and busts, the PC version will likely be largely or completely dropped with it, just like any other major crossplatform release. You may not even be able to play the game if they go as far as shut the servers down (and other companies HAVE done the full equivalent! GGG only has one game. They can fly by night if they decide to... and at this point I certainly don't trust them not to.)


We've seen this before, many of us. We know how it goes. That's why we're reacting the way we do. An announcement like this is usually a death knell for the game, and sometimes the entire company, it comes from, in terms of quality.

Yeah cos GGG is just another gaming company right? They operate exactly like Blizzard and Ubi and whoever else?

Started playing PoE when it was a fledgling with employees in single digits and now they're apparently pushing 90ish... pretty sure they can manage a side release on a console just fine.

Go ahead and be pessimistic all you like... I'll keep on playing the game until there is a tangible reason to be pissed off. FFS... how dare they expand and try to become more profitable? The sheer gall.

this is really bad news...we all know what happens to pc games that get ported to console..they turn to shit! this is really sad because i was so happy taht poe was a PC game only....so sad

please don't let the PC version take a back seat like all other games

the game in it's current form is much too complicated for console users. imho they want easy and entertaining stuff, not games where you have to run excel and notepad to manage your game progress.

sadly, so far my experience with games that supported consoles and pc were rather bad. on the other hand it's a good thing that /claim_cafting_benches probably has to go now.

the reson for other games to go console was to get more control on the user side of things (botting and scripting issues), if that was one of you motivations and this is just a start to leave the pc platform i would be heavily disappointed.

PC is the best by far, but wtf do you mean "spending our money on something irrelevant to us?" What do you mean your money? The second you hand it over to GGG it's theirs, you don't get stock, you don't get a say. Well maybe you do if you spend a crap load on a special pack but not for what they release it on.

All another system release is going to do is give them more money. They're a business, that's the goal. As long as the PC version doesn't suffer, which doesn't seem like it will so far, then we're fine. PC is still the best version, why anybody would play a game like this on an underpowered device like a console is beyond my reasoning but peasants exist too.
