I am new to summoners. Just having some slight difficulty managing the transition to full spectres.

Currently lvl 75 in BETA using only 4L helm and 4L armor. But it seems I am starting to die more often.

Should I get a 5L armor?

Just bought a Solaris Lorica 4L (str item) and a Prism Guardian Archon Kite Shield. I probably need to go ahead and get the Midnight Bargain. Just checked POE trade.... No Bargains for sale.

My question is what is your set up to farm Scriptorium using Solaris Lorica armor.

My noob self was using +2 helm for my Spectres. The Burial Chambers boss ((Witch of the Cauldron, based on Alira)) is kicking my arsh.

Thanks for any advice.

first of all: that burial chambers boss is kicks a lot of asses, i am sure most people will agree. easiest way to deal with that is avoiding that specific map (or just the boss when doing the map) until you got a 5link and/or got more tanky.

the spectres do not get much from the +2 in the helmet, better put your zombies in there, since the boos to their survivability is much more significant.

i start farming scriptoriums once i got my aura setup running, got my resistances capped (which should not be that much of a problem thanks to purity auras) and got a decent energy shield pool while using a 4l solaris lorica. "decent" means about 4-5k, which might be a little less in beta, i dont know since i do not play beta (i prefer to play the finished content once it´s released). colours on solaris lorica are BBRG, which means you socket Raise Spectre - Minion Damage - Fire Penetration - GMP in it, for bosses you switch GMP out for slower projectiles. you hit those colours ON AVERAGE every 29 chromes. the setup is (of course) a lot slower than the finished build and you will have to play extremely carefully since you are very squishy. at that point i would not necessarily open breaches, unless you do not mind the experience loss. still during that time i tend to have A LOT of fun playing poe, since it is relatively challanging and i am farming my own shav´s, while also making some money off of the opal rings that drop in scriptorium (however i am not sure if they are still that valuable after double dipping changes).

Can't view your tree as well as the rest of your items in Beta, thus it is hard to provide proper advice.

Using Solaris Lorica is indeed viable, but you need high es values for the rest of your gear to compensate. Another alternative to consider is to use a es chest with 2 nos of Coruscating Elixir, and trying to cap your chaos resist (The Broken Crown helm has up to 61% chaos resist).

You can also just go life, use less auras and farm till you can afford a shav, then respec. Thats the route I took.

all of that is true aswell, however i think the route with the coruscating elixirs can be very frustrating especially for new players, since you essentially have to have it up 100% of the time, which leads to a lot of random deaths. (softcore-)viable - yes. recommended - hell no.

Question, I've not fully but have come close to optimizing my equipment, I was wondering which gems to get to 20q and if there is an order of priority?

Quality Raise Spectre, Zombie, Minion Damage, GMP, Spell Echo, Controlled Destruction, Faster Projectiles, Minion Life and Curse on Hit. The rest are not necessary but provides a quality of life benefit, eg dessecrate, convocation, flesh offering quality offers increased duration and or cast speed. Auras when quality provides increased area of effect.

The exchange rate for gcp vs chaos according to poe.currency is 10gcp for 15chaos. The best way to get better rates is to buy 20% quantity gems at 1c or less and sell them to the vendor. You can generally find 20% mirror arrow for 1c. Try msg people who posted 1 week or less ago.

that pretty much sums it up, i would just like to add quality on curse on hit and enfeeble gems probably grant the most value, and i personally like to have some quaility on both my generosity and my anger gem, since that grants the anger aura A LOT of aoe, making sure all of my minions are always affected by it, so the commander of darkness ascendancy node always provides the 20% all resist so they do not randomly die to elemental damage.

Will this build still be able to farm shaper / guardians in 3.0? Nerfed, buffed?

Well, ES has been nerfed, that much we know. However the Beta is ongoing and there might be more changes that may affect this build. In my humble opinion, this build will function more or less the same except that ES will be slightly compromised. There might be more good news later such as spectre will persist even after you log out.

once again - i agree.^^ unless there are some until now unknown changes to fire-eaters or smth i do not see why the build would not be able to farm shaper in 3.0. you will have less ES in total, but other things improve, i added a section to the guide where i explain my thoughts on it more detailed.

For leveling as life before Shavs, how would you chang the build? At what level did you start using spectres full time? How would you prioritize auras?

i am sure there are more optimal ways, but i pretty much just pick up life nodes whenever they are next to my route anyways and i try to get some life on gear. for auras i go for purity of elements and clarity, since i use Summon Raging Spirits for leveling. i transition to full spectre once i got merciless lab ascendancy points and the required (budget) uniques, such as Eye of chayula, uncorrupted midnight bargain, solaris lorica, bones of ullr, prism guardian plus some rare items/jewels to cap my resists and get the attributes (155 dex, 111 strength). to afford that i just do some chaos recipes while farming dried lake (Chaos recipe is in my opinion NOT fun and not very efficient, but it is reliable, so i use it to get the build running, but past that point i would not recommend it). during that do not forget to level your purity auras and the desecrate gem ind your 2nd weapon set. the level is not that important, but you need at least lvl 70 so you got the most important nodes at the tree. if you play hardcore/are not that experienced with low life builds or summoners or just get very unlucky with drops or stuff on poetrade, just overlevel a bit, before speccing into low life.

I'm having mana problems. Because almost everything is reserved by the auras, I frequently have to wait for mana in order to cast Flesh Offering. I frequently cast ball lightning in order to direct the minions, but often run out when doing that. Am I doing something wrong, or is it intended in the play style that I need to be sparing with my casts?

My summoner is level 88. With all auras up, I have 46/777 mana remaining.

I'm playing this build too, even though i'm only lvl69 and have not switched to low life yet.

Have you tried to use a lvl1 ball lightning ? It should reduce the mana cost.

Yes, Ball lightning should be lvl 1. additionally make sure you put in the conquerer´s efficiency jewel, it grants 2% reduced mana reserved. you will still sometimes have to wait for mana if you spam ball lightning or cast 3 desecrates before the offering, you can fix that by going for some mana regeneration on jewels (2 jewels with like 11-15% mana regen should be enough). however that is just quality of life and by no means required, but if that mana problem bothers you, go for it. :)

i am not playing beta, so i can not tell you, where exactly you can find them but i can say the following:

they never appeared at the coast in normal difficulty, you always had to go to cruel or merciless coast in order to get them. since cruel and merciless got removed they are PROBABLY in a zone in Act 6, since that should be the remade Act 1. i can not say for sure that cou can find them there, but i doubt they removed them entirely.

I have tried all the zones in Act 5-6-7-8 and haven't found cannibal fire eaters. I may have missed something though, or may have not tried hard enough.

What I do is raise the flame sentinels in Act 8 Solaris (which really are enough for low tier maps), and then check with desecrate+spell echo if I can get better flame sentinels or cannibal fire eaters. I have been too lazy to write down in which map I got which specters. It probably has changed since 2.6.
