I am new to summoners. Just having some slight difficulty managing the transition to full spectres.

Currently lvl 75 in BETA using only 4L helm and 4L armor. But it seems I am starting to die more often.

Should I get a 5L armor?

Just bought a Solaris Lorica 4L (str item) and a Prism Guardian Archon Kite Shield. I probably need to go ahead and get the Midnight Bargain. Just checked POE trade.... No Bargains for sale.

My question is what is your set up to farm Scriptorium using Solaris Lorica armor.

My noob self was using +2 helm for my Spectres. The Burial Chambers boss ((Witch of the Cauldron, based on Alira)) is kicking my arsh.

Thanks for any advice.

first of all: that burial chambers boss is kicks a lot of asses, i am sure most people will agree. easiest way to deal with that is avoiding that specific map (or just the boss when doing the map) until you got a 5link and/or got more tanky.

the spectres do not get much from the +2 in the helmet, better put your zombies in there, since the boos to their survivability is much more significant.

i start farming scriptoriums once i got my aura setup running, got my resistances capped (which should not be that much of a problem thanks to purity auras) and got a decent energy shield pool while using a 4l solaris lorica. "decent" means about 4-5k, which might be a little less in beta, i dont know since i do not play beta (i prefer to play the finished content once it´s released). colours on solaris lorica are BBRG, which means you socket Raise Spectre - Minion Damage - Fire Penetration - GMP in it, for bosses you switch GMP out for slower projectiles. you hit those colours ON AVERAGE every 29 chromes. the setup is (of course) a lot slower than the finished build and you will have to play extremely carefully since you are very squishy. at that point i would not necessarily open breaches, unless you do not mind the experience loss. still during that time i tend to have A LOT of fun playing poe, since it is relatively challanging and i am farming my own shav´s, while also making some money off of the opal rings that drop in scriptorium (however i am not sure if they are still that valuable after double dipping changes).

I beleive my profil is open. I currently have 3k5 ES at lvl 83 with :

Solaris
Energy from within
250 ES helmet
90 ES gloves
45 ES belt
74 ES from rings (0 from amulet)
26 ES from boots and 36 from shield
and discipline of course (lvl18).

I would say that it is not really a problem (having "only" 3.5k ES) since the build is really tanky resistance wise, after you switch to low life (3 purity auras is strong). I am more concerned about phys damage. With basalt and Flesh Binder from ascendency, I have 45% physical damage reduction (10 zombies). It doesn't take arctic armour into account but still.

I have never played a summoner before this. It seems that positionning is crucial. I had to keep myself from pushing and going too fast, because we just can't. Always send minions first and play slowly. From what I have understood, clearspeed is not the strength of this build. It rather seems to be boss farming. As long as I don't loose patience, having 3.5k ES is not really a problem. I wouldn't do it in HC however.

45% physical mitigation is very good considering it REALLY is that 45%. armour for example gets less effective the bigger the hit is, so you never get what your tooltip proimizes, those 45% however are true mitigation.

to be able to rush through maps you need shavronne´s, lvl 20 purities and after 3.0 probably also presence of chayula, before that you need to play behind your meatshield, yes. once you got those things clearspeed is very good - at least in my opinion. if you prefered vaal fireball/spark in the past it will seem slow to you ofc.
How do you get cannibal fire-eater spectres in the beta? There is only an act 1 coast so fire-eaters do not spawn there and I cannot think of any other place to find them.

Any response would be awesome I'm struggin through maps until I happen upon some and then I just don't log out for awhile.

are there no more fire eaters at coast in 3.0? where can i find them now?

i am not playing beta, so i can not tell you, where exactly you can find them but i can say the following:

they never appeared at the coast in normal difficulty, you always had to go to cruel or merciless coast in order to get them. since cruel and merciless got removed they are PROBABLY in a zone in Act 6, since that should be the remade Act 1. i can not say for sure that cou can find them there, but i doubt they removed them entirely.

As mentioned i do not play beta and i do my best not to watch any spoilers.^^ if noone else knows the answer to this i guess one could go to act 6 and try to summon them in each zone - that´s what i will do in 3.0.

thanks for the build, 1st time summoner but still hoping to kill shaper. My budget will be between 10-20 ex. Do people usually level w/ summoner spells, right now I've got Bones of Ulr boots and Matau Tupuna shield, curious if anything else can help with the push to 70 or so

3l reverberation rod with SRS - Minion Damage - Melee Splash carries you easily. switch melee phys in for melee splash against harder bosses like merciless izaro.
well damn, I've reached lvl 55 just running 2 spectres and 9 zombies with chaos golem. I kept haste and arctic armour on for early auras. The clear is pretty mediocre, but using severed in sleep dagger makes it tolerable cause I don't have to re-summon very often. Not sure if this build is viable as a league starter but I think SRS is definitely the way to go for leveling if I can use this in 3.0 --- thanks again
So I can finally afford presence, that being said, should I buy another shavs and try to 6l (I currently am running a 5l shavs) or should I get presence?
Well i guess it comes down to if you need more dmg with the 6th link or that you need more survibility. Personally with the upcoming nerfs to ES i would go for the amulet.

According to http://cb.poedb.tw/us/area.php?cn=QuestItem in 3.0 you can't desacrate Cannibal Fire-eater in any act zone.

In beta 3.0 you can meet or desecrate thoes mobs on maps like before. You can find maps list in the first post.

If i want fire-eaters i open low level maps where mobs can spown till i find them. Sometimes take even 8 maps. Then i open high level map to desecate them.

Low level maps are alc or less during league, not so expensive. At the begining of 3.0 league can be harder and we not sure if somothing won't change.

Other option is mapping with sentinels, solar guard, prayer guard or any fire base spectres till you meet fire-eaters or can desecrate them. Killing bosses won't be so smooth but also not so hard too.

Yesterday i had t14 fire-eaters and i went to do t15 core. I desecrated them in first pack.

edit:

Best map to meet or desecrate fire-eaters without any spectre is shore becouse of it's coast based layout
