Nothing wrong with Blade Flurry, it's not OP it just doesn't suck like typical melee
Honestly, the skill is
a) Not a melee skill, it is called that, but guess what, that's the same for Lightning Strike, half of our spells are more melee than Blade Flurry (like such incredible melee skills like Vortex, or Lightning Tendrils or Arctic Breath (yes it is melee, because the average distance until it hits a random object and explodes is propably shorter than Blade Flurry^^)) b) just numerical strong. A single strike deals about 110% weapon damage if you add in the high AS. Adding to that, you can increasingly higher stacks with more damage. To get to 6 Stacks you will do 6 Attacks, with 0 to 5 Stacks, so on average they have 50% more damage, meaning those 5 Strikes deal 165% damage on average, that is already better than almost any other AoE skill. After this you release it for 6 Hits (because the last attack gave you the 6th stack), so you deal 110% x 6 x 2,2 damage. That is another 1452% weapon damage. Or if you look at it per attack, you get a total of 242% + 165% = 407% weapon damage per hit, if you channel for 6 attacks and release afterwards. Even if we phase out the Attack Speed benefit it is still a hillarious 250% weapon damage and again this is unsurmountable for any other attack, with the exception of Earthquake, which has the potential to deal 275% weapon damage... with a much slower attack speed. c) Comfortable and safe to use d) Incredible strong for most bosses, because you can precharge it Of course upgrading a weapon is less convenient than just leveling a spell, but that is essentially the only downside but getting Binos as a dagger or Scourge, Rime or another high level claw isn't that expensive. And there is also Scaeva which should work decently too. |

" Well if you play flameblast for example and always release at the earliest stages, you would probably be underperforming compared to many other skills for example ( damage wise, this year's powercreep and stuff makes it a bit less true tho ). This definitely seems completely different, it's just ... like ... too smooth at this point. Some things to point out : - Blade flurry can use the "strongest" weapon type, with one of the asendancy class that has the biggest ( probably THE biggest ) damage scaling of the game with it. Meaning you can take hips of ES with it. - And it scales on the strongest attack basede mechanics : attack speed, which also means that it will be stronger against reflect thant ... let's say EQ for example. And yeah, it's basically not melee of course. That said .... it's still very early, let's wait and see ... SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading. Last edited by Fruz#6137 on Nov 19, 2016, 8:23:42 AM

Nothing wrong with PATHFINDER, it's not OP it just doesn't suck like typical RANGE
|

" No, no, it's not RANGE, it's FLASK. IMO, flasks should all have an auto-refill rate that is simply amplified by pathfinder. Relying on enemies to kill to have access to their use seems clunky to me, and I never liked it. |

" Again if you want to talk about pure damage, viper strike does more of it even at 6 stacks, and VS does that without needing to channel. The issue is clear speed against the rest of the meta, and this skill won't provide that unless you're a standard league player using legacy gear or otherwise shit that won't exist in temp leagues. " If a skill was OP in terms of clear speed, xp/hr and currency/hr, hc would be using it yes. Unless there is something specifically about it that gets you killed, which if that's the case it DESERVES to be op as the drawback of DYING is good enough. " What the actual fuck are you even talking about? There are vids of ppl clearing gorge in less than a minute with BV pathfinders, are you fucking blind? BV does ALL of these better than every other build and with less investment, as well as shitting on bosses. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZvW_lWq3sc " All of which VS would kill faster and nobody uses VS. " No, you're not correct, because VS REQUIRES A FUCKING WEAPON AND FLAMEBLAST DOESN'T. Why is this a hard fucking concept for you? " It's not going to be a good ANYTHING, unless you are PLAYING IN STANDARD LEAGUE, WITH LEGACY SHIT FROM YOUR OTHER CHARACTERS, THAT YOU CAN'T USE IN A NEW LEAGUE. PERIOD. " Which is a valid fucking point? What is your issue exactly with this point? Do you even have one? I will say it one more time. THIS GEM WILL WIN NOTHING IN THE NEXT LEAGUE my evasion is so high i only insta rip sometimes ----- Bug Fixes: People were using cyclone for actual melee builds, so we nerfed it and made blade vortex. Also, we went ahead and made cyclone great for CoC casters while we were at it. Last edited by Legatus1982#1658 on Nov 19, 2016, 9:43:55 AM

@Sure_K4y:
That's the point. I don't want them to jump from skill to skill every league. I don't even play leagues anymore, not that I was ever prolific. I want them to let at least one skill usable troughout the lifetime of PoE. I mostly play casual standard since 2013. I was even in open beta 2011/12. This game is completely changed since and not for the better. Armor was armor back then, not just some stat you stack for reasons no other than because everyone still does it and is still beats EVA in melee. ES is still an option if you Vaal Pact and ZO for caster. Or you can do a life/ES hybrid that feels glass cannony on low levels, but gets somewhat comfortable around level 90 and higher. I'm currently using all char slots for leveling standard league chars since PoE release in 2013. Being casual and I actually had huge periods when I wasn't able to play, it's hard. But I got all my chars except for 3 over level 60, 70 and 80 and I have a lvl 90 fire-EK Scion who is my highest lvl char at the moment. My first ever char, who I created in open beta is a Arc Witch. Now an elementalist. I remember when Arc was first introduced. It was the most op lightening spell. Then they nerfed it a bit later, before Atziri/Sacrifice of the Vaal expansion. Now it's half decent after they introduced some good support gems and good secondary lightening skills. It will never be a top spell again, but it's viable in endgame also. Unfortunately after they nerf blade furry it will hardly fare as good as arc did. Everyone hates it after just one day. Savages. There was I thought at least something good can come. I'm using Blade furry with my Consuming Dark/Bino dual wield Assasin. For single target I still use viper strike. I was using reave for clearing packs before. Reave for **** sake. Blade vortex just somehow wasn't my style. When I finally found a skill I can safely say I want to cling to. Like I clinged to Arc against all odds with my witch. Now they want to murder it before it even has a chance to prove naysayers wrong. Because they're wrong. All of them. They got to high levels with OP skills and legacy gear because they're no-lifers. Now they feel just because they "sacrificed" their free time, they are somehow justified to call nerf on skills that can threaten their meager position as top players and allow more players to previously gated content. They're like spoiled rich kids taking a piece of bread from the hand of starving African children. They have no life, no honor and no right to do that. |
