Remove the Lab!!!!!!

Why the fuck? Is this thing even here. Who the hell thought it would be a good idea to force hard-core mechanic on everyone.

I can't get over how anyone thought this was a good idea.

This is something that annoys me as well. If I wanted the hardcore experience, I'd play the hardcore leagues.

Granted, you can simply try again, in case you failed the lab when playing SC, but I don't like the idea of having it shoved down my throat. I made the choice not play HC for a reason, and I would like the devs and their game to respect this choice that I made, rather than changing/mixing the "rules" willy-nilly. It's a matter of principle -above all else- for me.

I could cope with the lab much better if it had a system in place that would make it so you can die while doing it, and continue in exchange for not getting keys and enchants. It would still make the lab the semi-hardcore experience for people wanting to do full key runs and grinding enchants, while it would make it less annoying for those who just want their 2 points and move on.

In short: Less punishing for players who just want points, while still being what it is for people grinding it for cashmoney. It would also help with creating different builds, because the one thing I don't like about creating new builds is doing lab again and again...

But I cannot respect motherf♪♫♫♪rs calling something a simulator, when it isn't one.[/quote]

Whats hardcore about lab. You dont lose anything for failing.

You get 1 attempt so thats hardcore?

This is here to prevent cheese mechanics. Unless you have an alternative suggestion to prevent cheese mechanics. Ie vaal skills insta killingba phase of izaro. Logging out to prevent death. Leaving to replenish flasks. Ect.

Chris Wilson stated that they wanted softcore players to get a little bit of the thrill that hardcore players get by not allowing any checkpoints in the Labyrinth.
Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!
Checkpoints to telepprt between different areas of lab would be fine, but not to leave lab itself. I know i have had to back track a few times to get a missing key and it can waste a lot of time.

They wanted to introduce Ascendancy Points. But they wanted to gate those very powerful points behind a challenge. Something new. Different. Hard. To make you feel that you earned those points.

I can understand the hate about the lab being unfair for certain builds. We all know focusing on health regeneration is the way to go.

What I don't understand, is the hate towards "it's boring" and "it has nothing to do in an ARPG" and so on. The hate towards the "different", like it's a bad thing with trying to think outside the box.

I don't find the lab very fun. But I find lots of elements in lots of games "unfun", as all people do. I find leveling master very "unfun". I find act 4 very "unfun" too. But I DO feel rewarded when I finish the lab, something the rest of the game often fails to do. I can honestly say it's been months... Hell, even years since I've felt more rewarded in PoE than the first time I finished Uber Lab. I would never had that feeling, if the Ascendancy Points were gated behind... Just another monster... Or "nothing at all", as many in here suggests.

Yes, the lab needs some tweaking to be more fair towards different builds. But that's it, IMO.

Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

CCR Agrees.

Physical mitigation works very well through endurance charges as well. Makes traps tickle you.

Yeah, I know. But health regen and endurance charges are hard to come by for the north-east side of the tree, which makes it pretty unfair. Just a little tweak.

True but any build in the game can get at least 5. 1 from masters and 1 from a corrupted belt with +1 endurance charges.

20% physical damage mitigation and 20 % more resists is beneficial to any one, not counting armor and such, or fortify which gives 20% physical mitigation as well. You can get 40% physical mitigation on any build with just 5 end charges and fortify and a way to get end charges.

Everything you come up with comes from a permanent softcore league point of view.
Try to see past your nose that there are others who DON'T play easy mode exclusively.
