This is so ironic that you say that, it's actually pretty funny, I'm just quoting it so that it stays there.

I noticed pretty quickly lab defenders basically stop at nothing and resort immediately to ad hominem attacks to derail the situation.

I wrote it off as poorly concealed self interest. The situation is kind of hilarious and can pretty much be compared to american political debate.

Problem? What problem. All I need to do is attack YOU and resolution of the issue becomes irrelevant. Not really all that surprising when one's ingame livelihood depends on it. So the immediate regression into feral animal level defensive behavior is understandable.

I've actually never bothered posting in POE forums, but lab content was enough to really make me ask "why?".

Did I say it was OP who said that? No, it's the general opinion of Lab-haters, that people are (massively) quitting because of the Lab.

So, either the Lab chased everyone away by now (it's been 7+ months), or not-that many people left, which means the Lab is not destroying the game. In both cases GGG has little incentive to "fix" the Lab.

You responded to the OP directly (you even quoted him/her) with a statement completely different and very easy to shoot down.

You then proceeded to discredit that statement (that was provided by you).

That's what is known as a "straw man" (yours is a classic example, even) and it's one of the weakest and easiest-to-spot fallacies.
