[outdated] King of the Forest (Crit version)
Hi,

I'm trying to pin this down from the OP and failing. What are the really valuable affixes to get on the rares we have access to with this build? The only thing I know for sure is to try to Envy craft amulets and rings for % increased chaos damage (then craft on flat chaos damage), but what about things like attack speed, crit chance, crit mult, phys damage flat and increased, and other affixes, especially for other non-jewelry slots like boots?

Can Barrage be replaced with Tornado Shot for single damage?
I'm finishing Merciless difficulty, and I just swapped to the main attack, and although Tornado Shot says it has a higher DPS, I actually feel Barrage might be doing more damage. Could I have some insight on it, please? Also.. how do you sustain mana? Is the mana leech node enough? I don't feel I'm running out of it, although I have a mana potion, just in case. Sooooo. I hit lvl 97. Had a few boss deaths due to misplaying and a disconnect death or two, but ever since I got 6.7k hp and Taste of Hate (exact reasoning/thought process can be found in my post history - only posting in this thread recently), I've had NO silly random oneshot deaths. I did roll my maps a bit more aggressively too however, avoiding things like Vulnerability, minus Max Resists, or basically anything rippy. This is fair game in my mind as dying at level 95+ is really, well, painful; thus I don't mind investing currency into map rolling, and was even considering to just run my t14/15 maps blue. I decided to be greedy though and ran them all as rares till the very end. Was running at 20-22mil xp/h in Shaped Quay (T15) spam for level 96->97 totally safe in that map and that boss, in fact generating currency whilst doing it (selling T16 maps being the main money generator). Quite satisfied with that result and could probably keep doing this all the way to 100.
I've also hit 40/40 (finally did the map tiers - only took 97 levels on one char with xp-focused play! no skipping directly to bosses etc) and decided to Vaal my stuff as a way to celebrate. " TS is good as hybri skill, for single target and clear pack, but for using LA & barrage combo is alot better. "To expand on my own post here... I'm trying to find a way to fit the bow into my setup somehow whilst trying to sell it (it'll take a while). So, I'm at 87% crit with my 5 power charges (without any crit mods on my gear or jewels and whatnot). I'm thinking about dropping the use of Diamond Flask completely, and replacing it with Sulphur; I want to keep at least 2 non-unique flasks (for Freeze and Shock immunity mods), and it just occurred to me that the flat "Damage" mod on Sulphur will actually double dip everything which makes it at least as good - if not better - than running another unique flask (Atziri or Sin's being the unique flasks considered). However, 87% crit is still 87% crit... and not 95%. I could get a crit chance mod on my necklace, but that's about the only thing I can think of for boosting base crit. Maybe get a 21/20 (or 20/23) crit gem, and I recall there's another easily available power charge somewhere in the tree. But that's all I can think of. If anyone has any more cool ideas to increase crit, let me know. Edit: just tried 6 power charges. It puts me at 93.5% crit, which is perfect, but it does cost 3 passive points and has a ramp up time (getting the charges). " When diskussing high end - why no amulett with +1 curse? An addiotioal proj. Weakness for much more damage, or an addiotional defense curse, or warlords for dropping the leech points and getting a 12% phys reduction? You can then take the heartseeker cluster to get more crit multi this way. |
