No they don't. Enchants are an implicit. Essences just give a specific prefix or suffix. They in no way take the place of an implicit. There is no competition for spots between essences and enchants.

There are some new base items that have implicits that an enchant can overwrite. But so can a corrupted implicit.

Will try again. I had items with 3 attributes and a essence, all redded out.

No idea shovel, i clear whole screen super fast, then they do nothing in the lab against izaro. Maybe its desync. I rubber band in area's with traps. The only other place i rubber band is when i get allies cant die and my srs are hitting everyone but him (great ai). i7, ssd, fios, 16gig etc.

Could also be gear, im only using a 4link now. Found a 4l helm with +2 minion but it refuses to get a red socket (blew 200 chromes last night on it).

Every time i make a new char im reminded of how poorly designed the place is. I dont think they retained the intern who designed the place :)

Clear indication of the sort of people we are dealing with in threads about "hating the lab" they don't even know whats the difference between essences and enchants are. I doubt they know the difference between implicit, suffix\prefix.

I doubt it was an intern that made it, hell I'm fairly certain that GGG doesn't actually hire interns for programming\design positions. Furthermore insulting the staff with your remarks won't help you get the lab changed.


The place is actually designed very well, the build I've seen that struggles with it the hardest are summoners, but its still possible, even if you have to make adjustments just to do the lab specifically.

Its not a poor design you just have poor taste and don't understand why it is designed like it is. But hey its fine you are entitled to your opinion.

Didnt look into it much goat. I used 20 essences, none were able to be chanted. I dont really pick up essences anymore because they are all garbage. I will do some fears though for the minion bonus's.

Dont get me started on voraci. Keep the target alive, kill the guards? How the F is a summoner going to do these stupid quests? Mine is able to get 2 of the same color, i have to have 2 blue, not once did i get 1 red. 4 chromes only does one color anyways. I need 2b, 1r and 1r or g (blue would work too). Some items refuse to change colors for me

One positive from the lab is i completed a prophecy while in the lab and it gave me some 56-42 winds of change. Will grab 23c for them after tennis is over

see my previous post on last page. It's not a poor opinion when GGG agrees (see perma allocation, desync/lockstep/buffed loot drops, buffed map drops, etc.).

This doesn't make sense. Are you talking about adding master crafts? Because there is no blockade to enchanting an item except corruption or mirrored.

Yep, all the items were redded out. Couldnt take any prefix or suffix.

Why do you bother Druga :D He doesnt acknowledge arguments, or that some people like different things. Its his way or you are shipped off to some kind of a bin and assigned a label :D "uuu you have poor taste" :D Take it from the taste master, he knows what is in good taste and what is not.

Next he will tell you why you need to like it, and how you can teach yourself to like it.
You cant think straight when it comes to a product you have invested thousands into... it changes your perspective, makes you invested and therefore blind to its short comings..

I dont blame, its only natural.. happens to us all.

Lab is bad design when it comes to PoE. Goes up stream from everything else and does not jive with the general playstyle. Everyone can keep saying that its fine, that they love it but numbers dont lie.
Lab racing and the ladders etc were and still are a failure.
There is no challenge to ascend. Just tedious content that is gated by everything other than skill.
Killing merc malachai is more of a challenge and it actually goes somewhere with the story. This is just a tacked on system that should have been refuted in the design room and not allowed to actually mature into an expansion.

Mandatory joke : Plus, traps dont let me watch my tv when i play, they disturb my usual experience. I map and watch tv. Here i chase doors and levers, cant pay enough attention to either. Gives me some kind of personality multiplication effect. 5% and its a buff. Of course.
