This has been explained before why it is not a portal based fight or multiple tries resuming progression.


The issue with portals is that it allows people to come in at the end and get extra enchants\loot from boxes and overall cheese the content more then is currently allowed.

The issue with resuming a previous run is that the lab is designed to be done in one swoop, being allowed to restart from a position allows for again, cheese mechanics like extreme pot spamming and stuff like that.



In terms of respawning at the boss fights, that change was terrible in SC, it encourages the whole zerg the boss until you complete it, instead of building a stronger character to progress past that challenge. Personally, I'd remove that option completely, but that isn't going to happen.

so why is it ok to cheese the rest of the game, but not lab? The whole defense of saved instances (justifying portaling or logging out) was it didn't punish you for dc'ing. With Lab, you get boned if you dc.

Look it's easy. Stay in standard with your ascended characters if you hate ascending in leagues.

Either do the fucking lab or stop bitching about it because clearly it isn't changing. There has been no indication from GGG that it's even on their radar at all??

I swear...we got a couple of days reprieve from the lab shit with map babyrage and now we're back to the lab again.

LET IT GO OR GO PLAY SOMETHING ELSE.

And in normal-merc lab it cost you nothing to start over but time. In uber lab if you DC you lose your piece, which sucks, but that should be a rare occurrence if it happens at all.

In terms of cheesing the lab vs rest of the content, the rest of the content is designed to be more forgiving and isn't as specific of a challenge as the lab, the rest of the content doesnt have loot chest at the end that increase with player quantity (i do believe this is the case) and enchantments.

ikr I was looking forward to seeing what people thought of the essences and new bosses, instead its lab and "atlas sucks" threads. People so dissatisfied with one aspect of the game, they rather post on every thread about it explaining how they think its not right, rather then just accepting that it isn't going to change all league and either enjoying the rest of the game or moving onto the next game they want to play.

in normal to Merc, rest of the game, it cost you nothing, either, but it still SAVES THE INSTANCE. In Atziri or Council, if you DC, you DON'T lose your keys because it SAVES THE INSTANCE. Doesn't matter how rare it is, this was a legit reason Chris gave to defend saving the instance on log out or portaling for pots.

Atziri and Council ARE loot pinata's, and yet, 6 portals.

If you don't like the complaints about lab, LET IT GO OR READ SOMETHING ELSE. Feedback isn't for threads that agree with your point of view, it's for GGG.

Essences arent very good. You never get good stats (aside from what the essence gives) and it takes the spot of your enchant.

Bosses are pretty cool, they all got a haste gem and increased aoe radius it appears.

Lab is still really bad, especially for my spec (srs). I think the ai priority is whites/blue/yellow/boss. So they never attack the right mob. There is also stupid pillars and other things that cant be damaged yet (minions dont realize this) are somehow actively providing iz a buff. Really stupid design.

Izaro also takes no damage sometimes, then all of a sudden he loses half his life, then takes no damage again.

And the biggest problem with izaro is balance, poe is designed like d2, we have the same skills as the monsters. The more i see new monster abilities without having access to the gems the more i question the direction of the game.

Your opinion and standard have alot in common, no one cares.

After allowing some items to go legacy and some items not to (i guess they flip a coin) i decided to play on even field in the league
I've learned to love the lab personally. The traps and izaro are easy as shit with a little practice and the various rewards it offers are probably the best in the game in terms of effort vs reward.

I'm so glad they didn't give in to the QQing even though admittedly I was a part of it.

I understand it's supposed to be different by design. What do you not understand that there are people here who feel IT IS BAD DESIGN? And they are expressing it, TO GGG.

It's like I have to go over this EVERY TIME. Remember FFA/short alloc. loot? That was BY DESIGN. "Loot tension". GGG's design goal. People spoke up, bad design. IT GOT CHANGED, we got permanent loot allocation now.

Remember predictive mode/desync? BY DESIGN. Still, it was bad design, people spoke up, we got Lockstep now.

This is how feedback works. Masters, could only invite 4 at max hideout level. By design, but people still spoke up, it got changed! When was the last map nerf? When they got rid of rolling pack size, and during the beta, people were speaking up constantly how map drops were shit. By design. Again, people spoke up, repeatedly "it's boring running easy content" - remember that? GGG must have buffed map drops at least 3-4 times since that beta, and buffed maps on Zana. Speaking up lets GGG know when their "by design" is "bad design".

Latest is Atlas, people spoke up that map progression was crap, even though it was by design, and GGG changed it again, map drop buff, zana and lab can now drop locked maps, etc.

So just because GGG does something, by design, doesn't make it set in stone. You've been around long enough to know the game has changed DRASTICALLY in 3 years. And some of the biggest QoL improvements (Perma Allocation, Lockstep) is because people spoke up. Gave FEEDBACK.
