woooow thats insane! love u guys!!!!!!!!

Sounds like fun, but adults like myself are just doomed to lose. Work does not permit 20 hour game sessions.
Not to mention people can just share accounts and level up once character like mad. I like the idea of these events, but sadly no matter what they try to do "cheaters/exploiters" will triumph. |
|
" Triumph on what exactly? There is nothing to gain from those races, there is just some crappy ladder showing who can do 100 out of the 109 races. |
|
If i choose server Singapore, will i be able to join the event? do i just change league to join event in character making?

These races were really fun in closed beta, it's more of a social event unless you go hardcore mode to win it, give it a try even if you don't think you level fast or even care about that.

prices are unappealing... people wont grind as much for ''skinned'' items as for currencies
simply because with or without new skin these items suck just go with the D2 ladder mentality and make something appealing and smart and make eventonly items my idea would be to have prizes wether spawn with 1 random new proprety or just 1 fixed one like: redbeak as +20chaos resist wanderlust as +10% mana goldrim as +12% items quantity Facebreaker as 10 radius added to single target attack these items would really be considered more valuable on the market because they are EVENT-ONLY ZiggyD is the Labyrinth of streamers, some like it, some dont, but GGG will make sure to push it down ur throat to make you like it Last edited by Sexcalibure#7575 on Feb 21, 2013, 8:04:27 AM

I did not read the whole thread, so sorry if this question was asked before:
Will there be patches during the seasons? I think there will not be patches (or at least no content/balancing patches chainging gameplay) Forums are SOOO much fun on patch day!
Casuals play because it's fun, not to achieve any goal unreachable with their resources. We are playing for the next difficulty, the next keystone, the next item upgrade. Not to feel better than anyone else. |

" Those races were really fun and "a social event" in closed beta because tons of people participated because there was a goody bag at the end of each race. With the current system only the nolifers and a few "limited edition" collector types will even care to participate. Path of PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW

I participated in a lot of races during the closed beta and those were amazingly fun, because of the intense sense of competion ( it's fun to turn on global chat and watch responses to all those "Player x was the first to reach lvl.." "Player x has died at position z" announcements ). So in my opionion, races would be fine, even if there would be "just" a ladder, but adding these rewards introduces a sense of grinding/farming to the races and grinding and farming always needs the right incentives, otherwise people will not participate.
Problem with the current rewards is... well they give you no benefit. Even is their art would be amazing, they are still low lvl uniques ( and they are not even new uniques but already exist ), so you wont really use them all that much. Cosmetic effects not a bad idea, but they shouldn't be attached to specific items, because if those items (statwise) are too strong it becomes mandatory to win them, if they are too weak, no one will wear them. What about just granting people new cosmetic effects that work like the current cosmetic effects? You could introduce a new slot for these, so they dont concur with your actual microtransaction sales. I understand why you wouldnt reward really strong items or items that interfere with the economy, but having no incentive at all isnt all that motivating ;) I love the race events, they were one of the most appealing features about PoE, don't let them die. edit: i would like to addd, that a strategy like this would appeal to both "hardcore" and casual player: hardcore player can still compete for #1 (which is what makes them hardcore in a sense), casual can at least choose to farm for cosmetic effects, but races still dont become mandatory.
